We're buzzing to introduce the brand new children's book, "Finn's Big Adventure," a wonderful collaboration between writer Liliana Walsh and illustrator Fernando Nicolás Olivenca Martín. ✍️🎨

Reading aloud is a cornerstone of early childhood development, as it strengthens language skills and nurtures a lifelong love of stories. We just can’t wait for all our little ones to embark on Finn's journey!

Look at our Curious Crawlers go! 🤩 Our little ones are developing their Gross Motor Skills by climbing, crawling, and exploring their fun wooden structure. Watching them test their limits, build confidence, and master new movements is pure magic! ✨

Through play like this, children are developing their Fundamental Movement Skills, which supports their wellbeing!

Getting active helps them grow happy, healthy, and physically strong.

Activities like this are key to supporting the children’s holistic development – social, emotional, physical, and intellectual – as they explore, create, and interact. We are so proud to partner with local institutions like TUS to enrich the learning journeys of our children.

Incy Wincy Spider... is helping us learn our colours! 🕷️🌈

​This simple DIY cardboard spider is a massive hit with the children. While they think they are just feeding the spider colourful treats, they are actually doing some serious work!

Our amazing educators and the children have been busy bats 🦇, transforming their classroom doors into masterpieces of Halloween art.

​This isn't just about decorations; it's about brilliant teamwork, imagination, reused materials, children's engagement and development and celebrating the season together (a huge part of Aistear's 'Identity and Belonging' theme!)

There's nothing quite like a DIY pizza day! 🍕🧑‍🍳 Our little chefs at Busy Kids had the best time creating their very own delicious bread pizzas today. From spreading the sauce to sprinkling the cheese and adding their favourite toppings, it was a feast for the senses!

​This hands-on activity is brilliant for developing fine motor skills and encouraging independence.
​The children learn about different ingredients, follow a process, and see the tasty results of their work. Making their own lunch also gives them a wonderful sense of achievement and belonging. Just look at those happy faces!

We're throwing it back to some brilliant process art from last week when we celebrated World Cat Day (August 8th) by getting creative with paints and stencils. 🐾✨

Art is such a brilliant way for children to express themselves. It's not about making a perfect picture, but about the joy of exploring colours, textures, and creating something that's uniquely theirs!

Look at the brilliant teamwork on display! 🤩 Our little learners put their heads together to conquer this giant Paddington Bear jigsaw. Just look at those proud smiles!

🧠 Did you know? Jigsaw puzzles are fantastic for developing more than just patience! Fine motor development, problem solving, coordination, memory and focus skills, etc.

Strike! 🎳 Our after-schoolers had a brilliant time on their bowling trip. The smiles and cheers say it all! 😊

Trips like these are fantastic for building friendships and making memories. We hope they all had an absolute ball!

🐝 What a week at Busy Kids Athlone! 🐝

We had some unexpected visitors - a swarm of honey bees in our garden! While the kids couldn't play outside for a couple of days, it turned into an amazing learning opportunity when the local beekeeper came to help.

Our ECCE 1 children were absolutely fascinated and spent the week doing bee-themed activities - arts & crafts, tuff trays, and baking honey treats that disappeared in no time!

We wrapped up with black and yellow dress-up day, got to see a real beekeeper suit, and watched 'Bee Movie' together. 🐝🎬

Sometimes the best learning happens when you least expect it - we were all buzzing with excitement!
