Celebrating 25 years of the Access Service at Technological University of the Shannon Athlone 🎉
For 25 years, the Access Service has worked to widen participation in higher education, supporting students from underrepresented communities through outreach, guidance, opportunity and ongoing support throughout their university journey.
This celebration was not only a reflection on the impact of the service, but also on the incredible partnerships, schools, community groups, staff and students who have helped shape Access over the years.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone, and thank you to all those who continue to support the work of Access every day. We are proud to serve our students and communities across the Midlands and beyond. 💛

What a special evening celebrating someone who has made a real difference to student life in TUS 💙
We were honoured to attend the Golden Jubilee celebration for Fr Shay Casey, marking an incredible 50 years in the priesthood at TUS Athlone. Hosted by TUS Alumni, the room was filled with warmth, gratitude, and stories that truly captured the impact Fr Shay has had over the years.
From supporting students through difficult times to simply being there when it mattered most, his role within the Student Resource Centre has been described as “literally life-saving” in some cases. A standing ovation from the crowd said it all 👏
Congratulations Fr Shay on this amazing milestone. Your care, compassion and dedication to students has left a lasting legacy across our campus.
