Brideswell National School is a three teacher school, situated in south Roscommon, approximately 10 km from Athlone town.
The school is at the heart of our community and the children participate in all parish and school events.

Today we were delighted to welcome Mags from Meals on Wheels to our school to accept a cheque on behalf of this wonderful charity.
A huge congratulations to our Student Council for all their hard work and dedication in raising these funds. Their kindness, teamwork and commitment to helping others are a fantastic example to our whole school community.
We would also like to thank Mags for taking the time to visit us today and for sharing a little about the important work that Meals on Wheels does. Donations like these help support vital services in our local community and remind us all of the difference we can make when we work together to help others.

We were delighted to welcome a very special visitor to Brideswell NS!
Former pupil Darragh Murray, who began his primary education here in Brideswell, returned to his old school to visit staff and pupils. Darragh, who now plays rugby for Connacht Rugby and Ireland, took time out of his busy schedule to reconnect with the place where his learning journey first began.
The children were absolutely thrilled to meet Darragh, hear about his experiences in professional rugby, and see someone from their own community who has gone on to achieve so much. There was plenty of excitement, laughter, and memories shared throughout the visit.
A huge thank you to Darragh for making the time to come back and inspire our pupils. It was a day they won’t forget! 🏉

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our cake sale last week. Thanks to your generosity, it was a fantastic success!
The funds raised will go towards an ice cream van treat for all the children and a donation will also be made to Meals on Wheels.

The Middle Room enjoyed a wonderful day out at Derryglad Folk Museum, taking a fascinating trip back in time and exploring how people lived in years gone by.
A huge thank you to Charlie for such an informative and enjoyable tour. We had a fantastic day and learned so much about Ireland's rich history and heritage.

A huge thank you to Grainne, Iarlaith and their mum Mary for bringing in their gorgeous baby chicks for us. 🐥 The children absolutely loved seeing them up close and learning all about them. Such a special experience and lots of excitement all around. We really appreciate it!
Our Junior and Senior Infants enjoyed a very special treat after earning a reward for showing kindness and making good choices in school.
The children had great fun making rice crispie buns together - mixing, stirring and tasting their creations.
