Our termination date is finally here. Over 2 decades worth of learning materials, equipment, developmental resources, and classroom furniture packed up and removed.
Since the school term finished on June 26th, we were left with 16 business hours to have the entire site (indoors, outdoors, signage) vacated.
Although, as many of you will know, the building premises went under a renovation extension project in 2011. Despite apparent efforts otherwise, our lasting impression cannot be terminated, quite literally -
The floor? We picked it. The paint on the walls? We chose it. The kitchen? Planned for our needs. The cubbies? Built for us. The storage closet? A family member recommended it to the building plans. The outdoor play area? Constructed and enclosed around our school. The outdoor roof canopy? Paid almost entirely by an early years grant.
While we cannot presently comment on our treatment or experiences fully, 24 years is not something that will be covered over with a layer of paint. Our commitment to the needs and education of each child that passed through our doors, alongside the connections and relationships we forged on the way, is an impact beyond any physical presence.
