A new school year! Welcome back to all of our JCS students for the first day of the school year. We also welcome each of our new students and their families commencing at JCS in 2023. We hope everyone had a fabulous day and is excited about the year ahead.

Divided into our three houses, the students made a beautiful painting of their house hero: Nakula, Sadewa, Srikandi.
Decorations have also been made for the stage that is used for the performance of all classes of the school. Footage of this will follow very soon!

INDONESIA WEEK
Everyone knows that food and drink plays an important role in the Indonesian culture. 'Sudah makan belum'. All students of the school helped to make 'Es dawet'. First of all, the 'cendol' had to be made. That was not easy! When the refreshing drink was ready, we of course all toasted and enjoyed the 'Es dawet'. 'Tos'!

These top readers have read the most minutes of their class during the Read-a-thon. They were rewarded with a pizza party. Yum!

READ-A-THON
Wow! A total of 45,799 minutes were read in total during our annual JCS Read-A-Thon. What a huge achievement. Well done everybody!

The money raised (more than 30 million rupiah!) will be used not only to update our library but also to support a local school in the area. At our assembly last Friday, the readers with the most minutes were awarded with certificated and  prizes. We are very proud of all readers!

At the end of last term, the secondary students visited the Air Force Museum in Jogja. While there we did many activities, including a scavenger hunt and plane-building competition. We were then treated to a private tour of the museum and learnt all about the history of aviation in Indonesia.
