The students are currently enjoying a well-deserved vacation. Let's look back at the last week before the holidays; Book weeks. We did 'Reading buddies' twice that week. The students of year 3 and above have read to the students from pre-school - year 2. It was wonderful to see how the older students created a nice reading moment with the young students.

Atmospheric lights, performances by the students, Christmas trees, good food AND a visit from Santa made the JCS Christmas party complete!

Today all parents from Reception to Year 4 were invited to the JCS book cafe. Each class was decorated as a cozy café including a menu with a lot of 'delicious' books. Parents have read for the students and students for their parents.

This last week of the term is BOOK WEEK! We have a packed program that is all about books / reading. Every morning the day starts with a visit from a mystery reader. Through clues, the students have to find out who will read for them. We have some talented parents at the school!

Mathematics in secondary
Various mathematics lessons today.
Years 8 and 9 practiced fractions of quantities by cooking pizzas. What a fun way to do mathematics.

Last week we had our first house competition. The three 'houses' of our school: Nakula, Srikandi and Sadewa competed for glory and a batch of house points through the game 'capture the flag'. All teams competed for the first place through various competitions and Nakula was the winner!
Even the teachers played a game and of course the students cheered for their favorite team of teachers.

What a fantastic day we had yesterday. An enormous spirit among students, parents, teachers and other staff. Everyone had the same goal: to take 1 million steps to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Cianjur. And that was more than successful! Will you also help support the people in need?
