The Year of REBIRTH 🐍🌪⚜️

Last year I chose the word DEVOTION to commit to and EMBODY for 2024.

I knew it was about my purpose, I knew it was about my own growth and awakening.

I knew it was about the ownership of my gifts and the reclamation the Feminine within.

I also knew it was gonna be the kind Spiritual Awakening I had never 'seen' before due to last years eclipse season that seen me being INTIATED through my own life experience into the deeper layers of my Purpose here on Earth.

The Wounded Healer path is never an easy one but it is why we are so powerful as Healers due to the embodiment of our gifts through lived experience.

Our Bali Retreat in February was a hit, I unravelled many layers of my own wounds with a number of very vulnerable shares transpiring within Retreat space.

These things are still unravelling as they do..

But when Spirit calls?

god is a mother
and with that
sentence
the world stops

the world always stops
when woman and
divine
commingle

as if the
feminine
dilutes the
miraculous
when in reality
it embodies it

when jesus turns water
to wine
they clap
but when women turn breasts
to milk
they cringe

a broken man’s body
is celebrated each sunday
while a broken woman’s body
is just hidden away

and it’s no wonder
that mother is a word
used by men
to demonize those
who don’t claim the name
and weaponized to shame
those who step out of line
because
their ideal
woman
plays the role of nurturer
and silencer
in pews
built and led by them

but
when god
becomes mother
she is neither quiet
or compliant
she leads confidently
she questions authority
she commands respect
which might be the problem

for mother god
did not gather us up
carelessly
but took her time with it
she fed us milk
birthed our souls
and broke her body
and the permanence
can be uncomfortable

and to disentangle god
from motherhood
is impossible
but
to disentangle god
from womanhood
is sinful

because seeing god as mother
is one step closer
to seeing god in me
and it’s in that
i am truly
born again

Society generally believes that their power is found in the external.

Equating it with money and influence.

But it's not 'real' power.

It's reliance on something outside of ourselves and reminds me of toxic codependancy.

And is the immature Masculine and wounded Feminines version of it.

Power comes from within.

Tenacity and Conviction.
Raw Vulnerability and Courage.

It comes from living life with an open heart too.

Real power lacks people pleasing and the search for external validation.

Real power is certain and clean of unhealed trauma and it's shadows.

Real power doesn't look at the world through a dirty and distorted lense.

It has nothing to prove.

The Siren

The Siren is a mythological creature whose captivating song is said to lure sailors to their destruction. With the face and sometimes the breasts and arms of a woman, she is only partially human while the rest of her body is that of a clawed, winged, and feathered bird. The Siren first appears in Homer’s Odyssey, Book XII, when Odysseus is about to set sail to the island of Ithaca. The Greek hero is warned by the sorceress Circe of the dangers he will face on his voyage home, including the alluring song of the Sirens, whose haunting melody will cause him to abandon his ship and perish upon their shore. Curious to hear their song, Odysseus binds himself to the mainmast of his ship. He orders his crew to fill their ears with beeswax and ignore his pleas to be set free until they are out of harm’s way.

The Siren is a symbol of destructive illusion. She is a temptress who lures men away from reality. The embodiment of those unmoralized impulses, yearnings and ecstasies that call to man from his ‘Land of Hearts Desire’ (Harrison).

“The siren is one of the psyche’s deadliest anima aspects, luring the ego overboard, pulling consciousness off course, obliterating the memory and means of getting where one needs to be. Addiction, delusion, seduction’s disintegrating madness . . . her divinely exquisite voice is combined with powers of dissolution.” (The Book of Symbols, Taschen)

A later addition to the story of the Siren told that if her song was resisted, she would cast herself into the sea and turn to stone. Likewise, when our own destructive impulses are resisted, they lay dormant in the vast landscape of our psyche. Just as Odysseus ties himself to the mainmast, so must we find the center within ourselves capable of transcending these destructive desires.

The most exquisite explanation of the transcendance of yearning for MORE when the having it would destroy you.

Rather than resist, I prefer to run the energy of it and allow the wisdom to filter through for me, thereby turning what was once in shadow to light.
