Boiga cynodon (Dog-toothed catsnake) rescue.

These are mildly venomous snakes. The venom does not pose any danger to humans or our pets (except birds).

The night security had caught this snake sometime last night. As usual they put the snake in a large trash can and secured it for me to pick up. I got the request this morning. When I opened the lid of the trash can, I was surprised to see the snake sitting on the edge just under the lid. Luckily, I knew the snake was not dangerous and it highlights the need for the use of proper tools and safe techniques.
The snake didn’t like being moved, but eventually complied and entered the bag. He/she will be released tonight.

Cerberus schneiderii (Dog-faced water snake / Ular Tambak).
These rear-fanged mildly venomous snakes are found in the brackish waters of the mangroves and estuaries around Bali. With eyes and nostrils near the top of the head, these snakes are adapted to a life in the water. They are nocturnal snakes and hunt fish, crustaceans, or frogs in the mangroves. During the day, you may find them hiding in the burrows of crabs, or under rocks and pieces of wood.
They have a sidewinding motion when on land. They possess a mild venom, but the venom does not cause any severe effects in humans.
In Greek mythology, Cerberus is a multi-headed dog guarding the gates of the underworld.

This adult ratsnake was rescued from a pool. It went through the drain into the pool collector tank. I timed the snake holding its breath for more than 2.5 minutes, but they can hold their breath for much longer.
Luckily, I didn’t have to jump into the tank to get it.

What to do if you see a snake?
1.Stop!.The snake will not see you if you stay very still!
2.Shout "Snake", "Ular!" "Lipi!" The snake will not hear you,but other people will be alerted to its presence..
3.Keep people snd pets well away from it.Dogs and cats make snakes potentially dangerous!
4.Watch continuously where the snake goes. If it has not been scared, it may move quite slowly and leave if it can.
5. Take photos ( not videos ) for others to identify the snake.2m ( 7 ft) is usually a safe distance from which to take photos.
6.A snake will not try to defend its self if it is left alone. Snakes do not chase people!
7.Watching the snake all the time, walk slowly backwards.Do not run!
8.Hopefully the snake will try to find its way out again. If it got in easily, it should be able to leave again just as easily!
9.Do not search for the snake, especially in thick vegetation or in cluttered areas! If disturbed, it will feel threatened , start to move more quickly, and then try to hide, making it more difficult to find!
10. Contact an experienced snake catcher , giving your name location and photos of the snake (if possible) so they can assess the risk and advise what to do next! The snake may not be dangerous, and can just be left alone without the need for capture.
Many thanks! Bali Snake Patrol.
