After a month and a half in Northern Taiwan, we decided to take another huge leap and travel to another continent... and Mexico here we are!! πŸŽ‰

Since we arrived here, we've been travelling in more creative ways, embracing a more adventurous path, that of alternative travel. So far we've had a work and cultural exchange in a local painter's house in Cuernavaca for amost 3 weeks and at this moment we are doing a house and pet sitting gig in San Miguel de Allende.

Each experience is unique and offers very different perspectives about ways of living and about people's lives. We are enjoying each experience and I see how our presence leaves an impression too.

During the work and cultural exchange in Cuernavaca, we had the time and opportunity to experience life the way a Mexican creative person does, with it's ups and downs. My favourite part was learning to eat like a local does, with many side dishes, yummy tortillas and very spicy sauces. Aylou's favorite thing was that he could play as loud as he wanted, and he could use many cool wood and stone working tools as his toys.

Our pet sitting experience is pretty cool too, we get to care for two dogs, two sweethearts who love cuddling on the couch the most. This experience feels a lot like home back in Belgium, as we get to spend it like we did our staycations. Lots of playing with the many toys available here, riding the small scooter around the city, swimming, reading many books and just resting.

I hope to stay in Mexico for another month or two and would love to experince the warmer parts of Yucatan too.

December is a very festive month and even though we're far from home, we're still making this month as special as possible!

One of my dreams was to have a tropical Christmas, but luck will have it that we're on the northern coast of Taiwan, and we have the typhoon season now πŸŒ§πŸ’¨πŸŒ¬πŸŒŠβ˜” so even though the temperature is around 20Β°C, the wind and rain makes it feel colder.
The perfect weather for making our airbnb very cosy!

This year we're mixing different traditions and creating a perfect match for all of us! So far we've added to the mix Norwegian, Romanian and a bit of Belgian flavours! Our Christmas tree is a type of yucca house plant that we lovingly decorated and we enjoy it everyday!

Here are a few of our decoration, for inspiration 😊😍
We wish you a warm and cosy December! πŸŽ„

We spent a week with two friends and their children in Koh Lanta where we rented a beautiful Scandinavian house ( Lanta seems to be THE place to be for Scandinavians) for us to share and it was such a beautiful experience!

We spent our days doing very little and talking very much 😊 we dropped all expectations of us being perfect parents. The children felt the release too and immersed themselves in each others company, playing with the many toys available at our place and when it didn't rain, on the beach.

For us adults, it was the best way to have those adult interactions, as we're all single parents, and for our children to feel true belonging thousands kilometers away from home.

This experience reminded me of an old dream of mine of creating a community, a village with friends. So excited to see what the future will bring!

We've arrived in Krabi! It's been a long journey and luckily we were prepared for (most) situations πŸ™ˆ. Travelling is always a bit unpredictable and travelling with children even more so, I try to foresee solutions to make it as comfortable as possible.

One great hack has been personalizing our luggages with our own creations 🎨. This way there's not much chance we switch luggage with others and spotting them has been a fun game we play.

And of course in-flight entertainment is a must for the little ones, and I cannot recommend enough clay or play doh. It's great fun for children and adults alike, and sometimes even for strangers 😁. Like our previous flight, this young man wanted to join in the fun and made some very beautiful figurines for my son.

Fun travels everyone!

Our last workshop in Bali was less of a workshop and more a day for us mothers to reconnect with our own creativity, while our little ones had their fun.

We made collages, which for me are a great tool to find what our subconscious mind really craves for, and the results were as beautiful as the creation process.

Many lessons have been learned from these past few weeks, and as we prepare to venture to Krabi, Thailand, we take with us the curiosity and enthusiasm for what's to evolve out of this experience.

Thank you for following our journey!

Today's workshop was more relaxed and fluid, we did whatever we felt like, whenever we felt like doing it.
Even though it's important to have structure, it is as important to let the structure loose and experience the creative flow. In the spirit of flow, we created witchy things like magic wands, masks to scare away bad vibes, animals and more. The most important things we created were the space for exploring and the inner space for immersing ourselves in the creative process.

We have only 2 other workshops planned in Ubud, and we want to make them extra special! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ†
Don't hesitate to contact us for additional information and booking!

Today's cloudy weather is perfect for flying our kite!
We are very lucky to see Poppy's babies for the first time. We first saw her over a month ago when we had just arrived in Ubud and her belly was so huge for her small body. Now she has 6 healthy puppies, who are soon going to be adopted. 😍🐢

Today's workshop became our team bonding day! We had the venue as our atelier for exploring creativity and it was just what we needed to structure the workshop better.

Unexpectedly, we created some very beautiful works, discovered very elaborate games with self made puppets, learned some more about Balinese ceremony and we're already looking forward to Wednesday!!

Experimenting with new techniques for our older children. It's very satisfying to pass the needle through the banana leave, to feel the rich texture. I'm curious what we will be creating with the thread πŸ€“πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™€οΈ

I forgot to mention the location of the workshop πŸ™ˆ
It takes place in Sopa Garden, behind Kafe Topi, in the bamboo venue. There is parking for cars and scooters available.
We will be there from 10am, feel free to come check the place and the vibe πŸ€—
