After a month and a half in Northern Taiwan, we decided to take another huge leap and travel to another continent... and Mexico here we are!! π
Since we arrived here, we've been travelling in more creative ways, embracing a more adventurous path, that of alternative travel. So far we've had a work and cultural exchange in a local painter's house in Cuernavaca for amost 3 weeks and at this moment we are doing a house and pet sitting gig in San Miguel de Allende.
Each experience is unique and offers very different perspectives about ways of living and about people's lives. We are enjoying each experience and I see how our presence leaves an impression too.
During the work and cultural exchange in Cuernavaca, we had the time and opportunity to experience life the way a Mexican creative person does, with it's ups and downs. My favourite part was learning to eat like a local does, with many side dishes, yummy tortillas and very spicy sauces. Aylou's favorite thing was that he could play as loud as he wanted, and he could use many cool wood and stone working tools as his toys.
Our pet sitting experience is pretty cool too, we get to care for two dogs, two sweethearts who love cuddling on the couch the most. This experience feels a lot like home back in Belgium, as we get to spend it like we did our staycations. Lots of playing with the many toys available here, riding the small scooter around the city, swimming, reading many books and just resting.
I hope to stay in Mexico for another month or two and would love to experince the warmer parts of Yucatan too.
