We are pleased to highlight an article in the Journal of Educational Research and Practice: “Assessing Student Satisfaction with Student Leaders' Performance” (Maturan et al.). The study investigates Grade 9 students’ satisfaction with the performance of their student council at St. Paul University Surigao through a researcher-designed questionnaire administered to a randomly selected sample of 134 students.
Key findings: overall student satisfaction was reported at a moderate level (M = 3.09, SD = 0.61). Among evaluated dimensions (leadership skills, approachability, communication, and contributions), the contributions of student leaders to school activities received the highest mean score (M = 3.20, SD = 0.57), indicating that participatory initiatives and visible contributions are particularly valued by students.
Implications for practice and policy: the authors recommend that student leaders actively solicit systematic feedback (e.g., regular meetings, suggestion boxes) to ensure inclusivity and responsiveness to peer needs. The study underscores the role of student councils in promoting student engagement and community involvement, and provides evidence useful for training and development programs for emerging student leaders.

We’ve just published a study on the Paulinian Remote Flexible Learning Experience (ReFLEx) — showing that students generally rated the program very positively, with teacher competence standing out as a major strength. The study also found a statistically significant difference in perceptions by s*x, pointing to important equity considerations in remote/blended learning.
