STI equips its students with skills to discover, create and apply new knowledge in addition to preparing them to have self-disci The Indonesian Curriculum (1994) was delineated by the former government (then the Minister of Education, Prof. Dr. Fuad Hasan) by issuing a decree prohibiting preschools from teaching reading and writing skills and prohibiting primary schools from giving entrance tests

to preschool students with reading, writing, arithmatic and foreign language to preschool students. Nevertheless, it is impossible to comply with such decree because most primary schools demand acceptance of primary students to meet high standard requirements including the knowledge of foreign language(s) in anticipation of the Globalization.
