SPH is an International Christian School Group with five schools in Jakarta, Indonesia. We are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and are a member of Christian Schools International (CSI). SPH runs internationally certified curricula – the International Baccalaureate (IBO) and the Cambridge Curriculum.

SPH emphasizes the Indonesian identity and culture and living in a global society. SPH schools partner with Sekolah Dian Harapan and Sekolah Lentera Harapan schools to serve families across the Indonesian archipelago. The first SPH school was built in Lippo Village in 1993 and serves as the directing school for a group of 5 schools. This was followed by Sentul city in 1994 and Lippo Cikarang in 1995. Kemang Village opened in 2011, and our newest school is Pluit Village which opened in 2014. Our teachers are recruited locally and internationally and provided with significant and regular professional development. Our Vision and Mission indicate our desire for students to be visionary leaders who can celebrate what is good, cooperate with others, critique and confront what needs changing, and act redemptively in the world. Indonesia Berkata Benar, Berkarya Nyata 🇮🇩

This year, SPH’s Independence Celebration theme connects meaningfully with our annual school theme: “Speaking Redemptively: Telling God’s Story.” Through our flag ceremony, games, and prayers, we were reminded that freedom calls us not only to speak with truth, but also to live it out through our actions — looking to Jesus Christ as our one true King, leader, and example.

As Indonesia celebrates 81 years of independence, we pray for unity, equality, justice, wisdom, and restoration for our beloved Indonesia. May our freedom move us beyond words, inspiring us to serve, to act with integrity, and to contribute to the good of others. As the Scripture teaches us, “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” — Galatians 5:13

Long before that holy night, prophets foretold the coming of a Savior. His birth fulfilled God's promise to redeem the world. While shepherds, humble and overlooked by society, were the first to witness His arrival, and wise men traveled from afar to honor Him, one thing is clear—this was no ordinary birth.

Born in a stable, Jesus, the King of Kings, showed us that God’s love and plan for salvation are far greater than we could imagine. His story is more than just history; it’s the good news of hope, joy, and redemption for all of us.

As we celebrate Christmas, let’s pause and reflect on the significance of His birth in our own lives. How does His love and sacrifice shape the way we live, love, and share light with others? 💫
