Today, we celebrate one of the most iconic wildlife species from Indonesia, the orangutans! They play a huge part in balancing the rainforest ecosystems. Sadly, their existence continues to be threatened by habitat loss, deforestation as well as poaching.

This World Orangutan Day, letโ€™s raise awareness and take action to ensure that these magnificent creatures may continue to thrive in the wild. ๐ŸŒฟ

Happy World Lizard Day ๐ŸฆŽ

Meet the Komodo Dragon also known as Varanus komodeonsis. They are known for their unique trait in reproduction. Komodos have the ability to reproduce without fertilization, this process is called partenogenesis. Whatโ€™s more interesting is that all the offspring birthed from partenogenesis are all males!

This flexibility in reproducing is thought to be an evolutionary strategy which gives komodo dragons a higher chance of survival in the wild as well as wildlife conservation programs ๐Ÿ™Œ

This animal is a hybrid of a male lion and female tiger. Ligers can weigh up to 400 kg and can reach a length 3,5 meter. They can have a mane similar to lions with faint stripes similar to tigers. Such an interesting creature to know!
