Majapahit Hall at ASEEC Tower UNAIR was buzzing with ideas as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs RI and held the Preliminary Discussion for the D-8 Youth Dialogue (D8YD) 2026.

From critical panel sessions on energy resilience and food security to interactive quiz segments, the youth proved they are ready to navigate global uncertainties.

As part of Indonesia’s chairmanship of the D-8 for the 2026–2027 period, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with Universitas Airlangga, will hold a Preliminary Discussion of the D-8 Youth Dialogue (D8YD) with the theme “Navigating Uncertainty, Building Resilience.”

This discussion will address energy and food security issues amidst global dynamics, and will also serve as an initial discussion platform for the D-8 Youth Dialogue (D8YD).

The event will feature speakers from government, academia, and the diplomatic corps of D-8 member countries, as well as involve students from various universities in Surabaya.

Today, ASCEND 2026 Champions participated in the workshop “How to Create Engaging and Impactful Events” led by Dr. Rani Sukma from the Faculty of Social and Political Science, Universitas Airlangga.

Through this session, participants explored strategies and insights on developing events that are not only engaging, but also meaningful and impactful for their communities and audiences.

We hope this workshop helps empower ASCEND 2026 Champions in preparing inspiring initiatives and future programs ahead. 🌏

🌏✨ AUN SUMMER CAMP: AIRLANGGA ADVENTURE 2026

From academic sessions and sustainability workshops to cultural immersion and coastal exploration, AIRVENTURE 2026 brought together participants for a week of learning, collaboration, and meaningful experiences across Surabaya and Banyuwangi.

Throughout the program, participants explored marine science and conservation, discovered local traditions and communities, engaged in interactive courses, and experienced the richness of Indonesian culture firsthand.

Thank you to all participants, speakers, partners, and committees who made AIRVENTURE 2026 a memorable journey of global learning and cultural exchange.

Strengthening research capacity and global collaboration 🌏

- 100% attendance eligible for a volunteer certificate
