Diplomacy is more than politics, it is about building bridges of friendship, culture, and trust between nations.
The Consul General of Indonesia in Mumbai, Mr. Edy Wardoyo, shared his journey as a diplomat serving in Japan, Australia, and India.

He emphasized that a diplomat must master clear communication, cultural understanding, resilience, and adaptability to represent the nation effectively on the global stage.

This guest lecture reminds us that diplomacy is both an art and a service, inspiring the next generation to see it as a path of dedication and contribution to Indonesia’s future. 🇮🇩✨

A historic milestone! For the first time in history, the 2025 National Indonesian Language Congress will be held overseas at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra on December 6, 2025. This marks a new chapter in the internationalization of Indonesian as a regional language and a tool for cultural diplomacy.

CFAS UNAS enthusiastically welcomes the hosting of the 2025 Indonesian Language National Congress in Australia as an important milestone in language diplomacy and strengthening regional cooperation. This is not only a celebration of the Indonesian language as a national identity, but also as a bridge for communication between nations.

Starting December 10, 2025, Australia will implement a nationwide restriction banning children under the age of 16 from accessing major social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and Twitch. This policy, driven by growing concerns over mental health and digital safety, mandates strict age verification protocols and empowers authorities to shut down non-compliant accounts. While the move has sparked debate over privacy and enforcement, it marks a significant shift in global digital governance.

In response, the Center for Australian Studies (CFAS) at Universitas Nasional (UNAS) issued a formal statement supporting the initiative as a progressive step toward safeguarding youth in the digital age. CFAS UNAS emphasized, however, that age-based restrictions must be complemented by robust digital literacy education and parental engagement. “Regulation alone is insufficient,” the statement reads. “Empowering young users with critical awareness and adaptive skills is essential to building a resilient digital generation.”

This development invites broader reflection: Is Indonesia prepared to follow suit in balancing child protection with digital rights?

A historic treaty has been passed in Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺
For the first time, Indigenous traditional owners are formally recognized through a binding agreement, giving them a permanent voice in shaping policies that affect their communities.

This is more than symbolism. It’s about truth, healing, and shared governance.
“Treaty is a chance to heal and move forward together.” Ngarra Murray, First Peoples’ Assembly

CFAS UNAS stands in solidarity with this milestone, highlighting its relevance for international relations, justice, and inclusive policymaking.
