HI UNDIP Ilmu Hubungan Internasional yang bernaung di bawah FISIP Universitas Diponegoro dengan fokus studi K Untuk itulah, IRDU lahir.

Program Studi Ilmu Hubungan Internasional Universitas Diponegoro, atau yang lebih populer disebut dengan IRDU (International Relations Diponegoro University) saat ini merupakan satu-satunya penyelenggara studi hubungan internasional di Indonesia yang memiliki konsentrasi kerjasama internasional dalam menangani
kejahatan transnasional dan internasional. Kemunculan Program Studi ini bukan hanya dalam rangka ikut meramaikan, tumbuh kembangnya studi hubungan internasional (HI) yang kini begitu populer di indonesia. Bukan pula dalam rangka semangat diferensiasi semata agar berbeda dengan mainstream studi HI konvensional. Namun lebih daripada itu, kemunculan Program studi Hubungan Internasional Universitas Diponegoro dengan peminatan khas tersebut, merupakan pembacaan sadar akan kondisi kekinian, baik dalam tataran global maupun nasional. Posisi indonesia yang merupakan jalur persilangan dunia, mengakibatkan indonesia menjadi wilayah persinggungan dan tatap muka berbagai unsur, baik dalam arti positif maupun negatif. Dalam konteks positif, kondisi tersebut merupakan sebuah aspek strategis; namun di sisi lain juga menjadi wilayah yang rawan akan berbagai macam bentuk kejahatantransnasional maupun internasional. Berangkat dari kondisi tersebut maka perlu lahir sebuah studi hubungan internasional yang tidak hanya mengkaji isu-isu tradisional HI pada umumnya, namun lebih daripada itu, perlu sebuah studi HI yang faham dan peka akan kondisi keindonesiaan dewasa ini dan mondial kontemporer.
