Meiji Jingu Japanese Studies Research Scholarships, SOAS, University of London, UK

There are two Meiji Jingu Japanese Student Research Scholarships available. Each scholarship is valued at £7,000 in total.

Scholarships are for one year on
ly, but it is possible for students to reapply, if an award recipient has demonstrated outstanding potential for research. Please note that this scholarship cannot be held during the Extension of Writing-Up (Continuation) status.

Eligible Programme
Any full-time MPhil/PhD programme where the student will be working on some aspect of Japanese Studies.
Part-time programmes are not eligible.

Candidate Criteria
Current PhD students at SOAS, or newly enrolling full-time MPhil students are eligible. Newly enrolling MPhil students will be given preference.
Applicant must possess an MA degree from SOAS or an equivalent institution in a relevant subject.
Candidates must have an offer of admission. Where a formal letter of offer for a place to study is pending, a letter from the candidate’s potential SOAS supervisor will be required.
Open to UK/EU and overseas applicants.

Candidate Assessment
MPhil candidates will be assessed on academic merit and the strength of their proposal.
PhD candidates will be assessed on academic merit, the results of their research during the previous year and proposal.
Some consideration will be given for financial need.

Scholarship Application Deadline
Scholarship Applications must be received no later than 17:00 (GMT) on 24 May 2013.
Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Applicants applying for scholarships must also submit an application for admission well in advance. Please note that complete applications for admission can take up to 4 weeks to be considered by the Department, although this duration can vary depending on the time of year. You should be prepared to wait up to 6 weeks in busy periods.

diundang ke tahap berikutnya.
2. Seleksi melalui proses Assessment Camp selama 4 hari, berupa

International Students Work Study Awards, University of Oregon, USA

A number of awards of a maximum of $6,000 each will be made to international students studying at the University of Oregon in 2013-14. Students who receive work-study awards will be eligible to apply for work-study jobs during the 2013-14 academic year. Although this award does not guarantee an on-campus job, opportunities for on
-campus employment will be greatly increased.

DEADLINE
Applications and supporting materials must be submitted to International Affairs on or before April 15, 2013.

Applicants for international work-study awards will be notified by the end of spring term 2013.

ELIGIBILITY
Demonstrated financial need: All international students who are encountering financial difficulties are eligible to apply.
Full-time international students with a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA.
New international students are eligible to apply for the Work-Study scholarship.

DURATION
In order to continue receiving awards during each term of 2013-14, students must be enrolled for a full course of study (minimum 12 credits for undergraduate students or 9 credits for graduate students) and maintain satisfactory academic progress toward degree completion.

Each award is for one academic year only (Fall, Winter, Spring). Renewal is NOT automatic and students must apply every year.

Maintenance Technician Certificate Scholarship, Helicopter Foundation International, USA

In answer to the Helicopter Industry’s need for qualified Helicopter Maintenance Technicians and in an effort to attract new talent to the industry, the HFI is sponsoring six (6) scholarships for Helicopter Maintenance Technicians. The scholarship will open July 1, 2012

The HFI Board of Directors has appoint
ed a Selection Committee to choose the scholarship winners.

Up to six (6) Scholarships of up to $2,500 each may be awarded.

Deadline for submitting an application is November 30, 2012. Scholarships will be awarded in February 2013.

Payment of scholarship monies is conditional upon receipt of supporting documentation from the attended school that the student has successfully completed the required coursework offered by an FAA Part 147 AMT program. Also, the student is required to provide a copy of the FAA certificate as an Airframe (A), Powerplant (P), or A&P mechanic; or the international equivalent.

If the school has not been compensated by the student, the HFI will make payment to the institution on behalf of the student, up to the maximum limit of the scholarship awarded.

In the event that the student was previously invoiced by the school and has completely paid in advance, the HFI will reimburse the student directly, up to the maximum limit of the scholarship awarded.

The application must be typed or legibly handwritten. All the questions must be completely answered. Incomplete application packages will be rejected.

Neatness, completeness, and accuracy do count. If additional pages are requested, they must be supplied.

Winners will be notified by phone and by mail, and they (or their representative) will be encouraged to attend Helicopter Association International’s HELI-EXPO 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. A complimentary one-year HAI membership and a complimentary Full Registration to HELI-EXPO 2013, for Scholarship Winner and guest, including dinner for two at the HAI Salute to Excellence Awards Banquet will be awarded with each scholarship courtesy of Helicopter Association International. Attendance at HELI-EXPO® affords the scholarship winner the opportunity to attend the Maintenance Technician Mentoring Panel and the Industry Outreach to Students Panel, as well as the opportunity to meet and talk with helicopter professionals from around the world.

Winners will be required to provide a contact name and phone number for the school, and an address to which the letter confirming the intent to remit funds may be sent upon award of the certificate. Winners will be required tocomplete their training and receive their certificate within 19 months of date of notification, and abide by all scholarship rules. The application must bear an original signature and be received no later than November 30, 2013.

HFI’s Maintenance Technician Certificate Scholarship will only be awarded to candidates pursuing an Airframe (A), Powerplant (P) or both Airframe and Powerplant (A & P) license or the International equivalent. This scholarship, funded by the HFI and supporting organizations, provides up to $2,500 to assist a candidate pursuing an A, P, or A & P, or the international equivalent aircraft maintenance technician certification. A primary determinant will be evidence of the applicant’s interest and determination to work in the helicopter industry.

Scholarship funds will only be applied to tuition costs. Scholarship winners are responsible for their own transportation and ancillary expenses (books, meals, tools, lodging). Any unused portion of scholarship money must be sent directly back to HFI.

Only applicants who meet the minimum qualifications, as determined by the HFI Scholarship Selection Committee, will be considered.

Scholarship monies will be paid upon award of a FAA Maintenance Technician Certificate. Written notification of their FAA Certificate, along with a copy of the certificate must be sent to HFI at 1635 Prince Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314.

ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP & FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarships are offered for 4 study programs: Information Technology, Accounting, Pharmaceutical Engineering and Biomedica

Ancora Foundation Graduate Fellowship at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University

This is our flagship program. One scholarship is offered annually to for an Indonesian to attend the Edward S. Mason Program at the John
F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

For the past seven decades, the Harvard Kennedy School has strived to place itself at the vanguard of studying public policy and preparing practitioners. Today the school has evolved into one of the world’s most eminent social science research institutions – housing 15 research centers and institutes and more than thirty executive education and degree programs – with worldwide reach and influence.

The Edward S. Mason Program is one of Harvard’s oldest international student programs. It brings together leaders from around the world who enroll in the one-year Master in Public Administration Degree. The emphasis of the program and courses is on developing the broad range of analytical and leadership skills required to initiate and to implement major political, social, or economic change.

More than 27,000 Kennedy School alumni reside in 137 countries and serve in a wide range of positions in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Mason Fellows come from all across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Eastern and Central Europe, as well as the former Soviet Union. Graduates of the Mason Program return to their countries to assume high-level positions. Many of them have become world leaders, including several heads of state such as Mexican President Felipe Calderon and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong as well as the current Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon.
Selection Criteria

Applicants should have (a) a confirmed acceptance at the Harvard Kennedy School (b) an excellent academic record with a first degree equivalent to a good Second Class (Upper) Honors or higher or a GPA of at least 3.5; (c) a very good command of the English Language; (d) at least seven years full time relevant work experience; and (e) assessed to have outstanding potential for leadership in government, business, or civil society after graduation.
