Our monthly scripture for May is Matthew 5:1-12 NIV.
It known as the Beatitudes, opens the Sermon on the Mount with Jesus declaring spiritual blessings upon those who are poor in spirit, meek, mourning, hungry for righteousness, merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers, and persecuted. This passage highlights an “upside-down kingdom” where the humble and afflicted are blessed, promising comfort, inheritance, and a heavenly reward for their faithfulness.
Jesus says that the good, blessed life belongs to those who love with pure intentions, as God does. This is at the heart of experiencing God’s blessing and true peace.
