Kalimantan means “Rivers of Diamonds” and is a land rich in natural resources. Central Kalimantan is also one of the least developed provinces of Indonesia, and there is much poverty. It is inevitable that development and exploitation will occur. Because there is enormous opportunities for growth, one of the Foundation’s work objectives is to ensure that this growth is grounded in human values, he

nce, the importance of the school as an incubator for fostering these values in young adults. We believe that education is the key to sustainable and positive development. The National Plus school was an appropriate model as it incorporated both national and international curricula. There was no other English based school in the province and thus it could provide opportunities for the local people to meet the challenges of development. Parents and residents in Central Kalimantan have worked hard towards the realization of this school. This effort was made with the firm belief that a school represents one of the most meaningful contributions that can be made towards human development in Central Kalimantan. For the first two years the school was a home tutorial center before it became registered with the Department of Education in Kalimantan. In July 2005, the School officially opened to the public as a registered bilingual, multicultural school with 28 children ranging from 5-17 years old. Bina Cita Utama (BCU) was the first ‘National Plus’ school to be registered with the Department of National Education in Central Kalimantan, and the first school in the province to use English as the primary language of instruction. A National Plus school for the greater Palangka Raya region was high on the priority list for the Ministry of Education; therefore Government officials supported the formation of the school. By virtue of the decision letter of the National Accreditation Board of Central Kalimantan No. 114/BAP-S/M/KTG/IX/2016 dated 16 September 2016 the school has been accredited with category 'A' for SD and SMP.

Smile, is something a kid should always bring upon their face. A smiley kid is a representation of a happy kid on how they precive the world around. In order to smile brightly, healthy teeth are essential to have. Teaching kids good oral hygiene habits from a young age is crucial for maintaining their dental health throughout their lives. One of the essential practices is teeth cleaning. By making teeth cleaning a fun and engaging activity, you can ensure your child develops a lifelong habit of caring for their teeth.

Huge thanks to Puskesmas Tangkiling for delivering such informative workshop to our students regarding the importance of oral hygiene. This awareness hopefully will have huge impact on the students in the future.

On Friday last week, we had a workshop by Puskesmas Tangkiling promoting issues such as stunting, nutrition, and menstruation for kids and teenagers. Promoting health socialization through education about nutrition, stunting and menstruation in schools is a crucial step toward building a healthier and more informed society.

By providing students with accurate information, creating a supportive atmosphere, and involving teachers, schools can play a pivotal role in shaping students' attitudes and behaviors toward their own health and that of their peers.

S*x Education for students is an important and sensitive topic that should be approached with care and consideration for age-appropriateness, cultural norms, and local regulations. It is essential to provide students with accurate information about sexual health, relationships, and consent to help them make informed decisions and promote responsible behavior.

Today we had a session from Betang Pambelum Hospital to educate our students on everything they need to know about S*x such as puberty, anatomy, sexual behavior, and sexually transmitted diseases.

Students are given the opportunity to ask questions and Betang Pambelum team awards the brave students that have asked questions. In the end, Bu Elis as our principal handed a placard to the doctor as a thank you sign and we also had a photo-together session.

Today's assembly was quite special because we were joined by our founders of Yayasan Bina CIta Utama, Bapak Mansur Geiger and Bapak Luciano Coelho da Silva. In the beginning of the assembly they both deliver a few words about them as well as vision, mission and value of our school to the room. After that we had pak Faris as this week’s speaker which he used this moment to present grade 12 physics projects about sound proof panels. Not to forget our choir performance singing Isen Mulang song which was conducted by Ibu Reni. Last but not least, we also had a sing along of Happy birthday and BCU anthem by holding hands with each other.
