HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

The origin of the present day TIS started in 2002 when school founders formed a small preschool "Little Morning Star" in Kelapa Gading. In 2007, to meet a demand for the educational needs of the primary level, Teach Indonesia School was established, by inviting new shareholders to strengthen the school basis. In Bahasa Indonesia, the school name is also known as sekolah Tuna

s Indonesia Sejati. Until today, the highest level available is up to year 9 (Junior High). The Education Concept

The foundation of Teach Indonesia School educational system continues to be based on the Christian principles and bible character. The students, from the baby class until the highest education level, are taught to find and understand their life purpose and embedded the honorable characters into their daily life. The right learning concept and knowledge of why they have to study will assist the students to achieve academic excellence. Lessons are mainly delivered in English. Indonesian and Mandarin are offered as second languages for Nursery (Mandarin) to Junior High students. We encourage all students to use English as their social language at all times in school. Starting in year 4, several National curriculum subjects are included in the academic program for the preparation of Ujian Nasional examination in year 6. In TIS, the academic program has been designed to allow students to build their characters and to develop competence in knowledge and life skills. We tailor our education program by combining best Christian curriculums to ensure that our school's academic standard is excellence. Our enrichment program will also equip our students with essential life skills and eye-open them to value life-long learning.

During our visit to Emporium,Teach Indonesia School were invited to get a closer look at various types of natural stone—exploring everything from their characteristics, colors, and textures to the unique qualities of each material.

This activity went beyond mere sightseeing; students made observations, asked questions, and discovered how the richness of the natural world can become an integral part of the realms of design and architecture.
After all, learning doesn't always have to take place inside a classroom.
Sometimes, inspiration can be found in natural stone.
