BPLP MEDAN changed its status to MEDAN TOURISM ACADEMY on February 12, 1997 in accordance with the decision issued by the Minister of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications at that time held by Mr Joop Ave with SK. The Director BPLP Medan (Medan Tourism Academy) at the time was Mr Sumekto Djajanegara.
