The Dutch geologist, GLL Kemmerling (1917), concluded that the evolution of Mount Batur occurred in five stages. The fifth stage of the evolution of Mount Batur is the formation of volcanic cones which began about 5,000 years ago and continues to this day. However, the eruption of the young Batur Volcano has only existed since 1804 and has occurred 26 times until 2000. The volcanic material ejected from the eruption of Mount Batur has become a source of mining and income for the people in the Batur area. Sand and most of the other forms of ignimbrit (pyroclastic flow deposits associated with caldera formation) are excavated and used by residents to make statues, temples, and decorative objects.

The large area of Batur Volcano, especially in the west and south, is rocky and there is very little flat land.
All of the volcanic diversity developed as geosites is a geological heritage. Rocks and landscapes recorded in the long history of volcanic formation and the evolution of their calendars over geological periods and spaces. This knowledge should be transferred to visitors so that they understand and appreciate the earth and its contents properly. Starting from here, it is hoped that nature conservation efforts for sustainability can be grown so that it can be passed on to future generations.

Mujair Nyat nyat is a delicious local dish from Kintamani, Bangli. Local fishermen mostly caught the fish fresh from lake batur. The fish then fried or grilled, soaked in a complete balinese spices and cooked until the spices pervades, which where the name 'nyat nyat' came from. You can enjoy this dish not only by a la carte menus from restaurants but also from simple warung around lake Batur as 'nasi bungkus' with only 15 k.

The Ngusaba Dangsil tradition is conducted by residents of Sukawana Village, Kintamani, Bangli, a tradition performed every fifth full moon/ purnama kalima- each year. This tradition is carried out as a form of the people of Sukawana Village's worship to Ida Shang Hyang Widhi Wasa/God the almighty.

Kintamani with its rich volcanic soil but rocky in some areas might be seen as the most challenging soil to grow something, but however it become well-known for its distinctive coffee beans and oranges as well as wide range of vegetables and fruits. The beautiful view of vegetable farms hardly be missed alongside the road. It made possible and thrive largely on the role of the local farmers who committed to work wholeheartedly on their respective lands.

Kintamani oranges are high-yielding varieties and are fruitful with an average harvest of 2 times a year. The harvest is usually to meet the needs of the local market, especially during holidays / ceremonies and also sold outside of Bali. Three types of oranges that are commonly planted by farmers are Kintamani siam, tangerine and slayer.

Farmers usually also practice intercropping, planting chilies, flowers or coffee between orange trees. That's why the aroma of Kintamani Coffee is distinctive because it would have for example an orange flavor.
