The Montessori Pink Tower is more than a beautiful classroom material, it helps children develop an understanding of size, order, dimension and sequence through hands-on exploration. As children carefully compare, carry and stack each cube from largest to smallest, they strengthen their concentration, coordination, visual discrimination and sense of order.

These early sensorial experiences create an important bridge to mathematics, preparing the mind for more abstract concepts such as comparison, measurement and numerical relationships. Through purposeful, independent work, children are able to discover patterns and relationships for themselves, learning through their hands before moving towards abstraction.

In Montessori, reading is so much more than learning to recognise words on a page. It is an invitation for children to explore new ideas, expand their language, spark their imagination and make sense of the world around them. 🌱

By giving children the freedom to choose books that capture their interest and the time and space to explore them at their own pace, we nurture independence, concentration and a genuine love of learning. Each page turned introduces new vocabulary, ideas and experiences, allowing children’s understanding to grow naturally through curiosity and discovery. 📖

Learning sounds through hands-on discovery

During today’s phonics session, our children explored letter sounds by tracing each letter, sounding it out, selecting an object, and identifying its beginning sound. Through this purposeful Montessori language work, children begin to connect what they see, hear, touch, and say, making early literacy learning meaningful and engaging.

These hands-on experiences help strengthen phonemic awareness, letter recognition, vocabulary, fine motor skills, and confidence, building strong foundations for future reading and writing. 📚
