JIS Alumni

JIS Alumni This is the OFFICIAL page for Jakarta Intercultural School Alumni. Reconnecting to JIS alumn Much Gratitude!

JIS considers alumni to be anyone whose life has been touched by JIS - former students, graduates, parents of students, former faculty, former admin, and former staff. The alumni office is taking ambitious measures in setting a solid foundation from which the alumni office will thrive. In hopes that we can reignite the JIS spirit that many of us fondly carry in our hearts, we strongly feel that th

e sky is the limit in terms of how we can help each other, the JIS community, and those less fortunate than us. Together, we stand as a rich resource, and there are infinite opportunities and potential to be fulfilled. The alumni portal is a key conduit in reconnecting our alumni. The most impressive and much needed feature will be our directory. We have an up to date database where alumni (each with their individual profiles) can search for each other through a number of filters such as: region, class, profession, and affiliation to school. It is through this complete database that we hope to facilitate the following:

• Reconnecting with fellow alumni & forming new friendships
• Communication & networking
• Mentorships
• Internships
• Guest speakers
• Class representatives
• Regional representatives

In addition, we have tons of exciting new content for the website. Some of which include:

• Monthly newsletters
• Ongoing news (on and off-campus)
• The history and evolution of JIS
• Feature stories of fellow alumni
• Announcements: marriages, births, in memoriam, etc.
• Events Calendar (reunions, on-campus events, etc.)
• Visiting JIS (visitors form, personal tours, alumni IDs, and photos of alumni visitors)
• Class notes
• Photo Galleries
• School Memories
• Community service opportunities
• Yearbook e-library

The alumni office would like to re-emphasize that we are here to reconnect to JIS alumni on a global level. We want to be able to give back to you- in the most effective way possible. So, don’t hesitate to let us know how we can take steps towards achieving this.

The JIS 75 Alumni Homecoming arrives in Bali! Our epic birthday gathering continued on the Island of the Gods, where Dragons came together for a day of cultural immersion at Saka Museum, emotional — and some tearful — reconnections, and plenty of Naga Spirit. For those who had just arrived and missed the Jakarta celebrations, finally being back together made the occasion all the more special. And that was just the start of our three-day Bali reunion! Stay tuned for more Homecoming highlights!

After kicking off our Alumni Homecoming at Pattimura Elementary (PEL), Dragons continued the celebrations at the Cilandak campus, reconnecting with old friends, flipping through yearbooks, touring familiar spaces, and, of course, picking up some Dragon merch at the Dragon Store! The energy was building and everyone was ready for the next stop: Bali!

12/08/2026

It all started at Pattimura Elementary…. In more than one way! Our JIS 75 Alumni Homecoming officially kicked off at PEL with Dragons from across generations — including members of the Class of 1970 — returning to the historic campus that shaped their earliest JIS memories. They reminisced about the PEL they remembered while marveling at how much the campus has changed. But one familiar landmark remains: the beloved PEL Tree. Led by Principal Jill Bellamy, alumni explored PEL’s newly renovated facilities, revisited cherished spaces, and a few adventurous Dragons even took a ride down the library slide!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a wonderful afternoon. From PEL, the celebrations continued at the Cilandak campus — and this was just the beginning. Stay tuned for more Homecoming highlights!

Dragons spotted in Uruguay! Eleven years after graduating from JIS, Class of 2015 Dragons Leo Castiglioni and Jason Friiz Sorensen reunited in Montevideo when a semester-long exchange program brought Jason from Copenhagen to Uruguay. Leo was there to welcome his High School “pal”, picking him up from the airport and treating him to a traditional Uruguayan lunch as they caught up on more than a decade of life. Jason is studying Business, Language, and Culture at Copenhagen Business School while working as a personal trainer. Leo is a chiropractor who calls Montevideo home.

Have you recently reunited with fellow JIS alumni? We'd love to feature your gathering in our Dragons in the Wild series! Send your photos and story to [email protected]

Anak JIS pulang kampung! For Fatma Kemala (Class of 2007), a visit back to JIS over the school break was a chance to share a special part of her childhood with her son. Together, they explored her old classrooms, visited the Senior Huts, and even found her Junior yearbook in the library — a memorable trip down memory lane!
