This week, our Year 7 and 8 pupils have been sitting the Pearson Progression Tests - externally standardised assessments which give us a clear, reliable benchmark of pupil progress against international expectations 📝
At this point in their school journey, it's also important that pupils begin to experience more formal exam conditions in a supportive way. These assessments help them build confidence, practise key skills such as managing time - and start to understand what will be expected of them as they move towards IGCSE. ⌛
Just as importantly, the outcomes help us identify strengths and gaps, so we can adapt teaching and put the right support in place to ensure every pupil is well prepared for the next stage of their learning 💫

As an international school, our community is always evolving - from new arrivals to fond farewells. But what never changes is how warmly new pupils are welcomed in 💛
Spend a few moments on our campus, and you’d be hard-pressed to tell which pupils joined last week and which have been here since we opened in 2021.
At ISJ, children quickly learn the art of making new friends, while still forming the kind of friendships that stay with you long after you leave 💫

Later this month, our Year 7 and 8 pupils will be sitting Pearson Progression Tests - externally standardised assessments aligned with the British curriculum which give us a clear, reliable benchmark of attainment against international expectations and UK cohorts 📝
At this point in their school journey, and especially as they as they move towards IGCSE, we want our pupils to start getting comfortable being in more formal exam conditions. These assessments really help them build confidence and practise key skills such as time management⌛
Just as importantly, the outcomes help us identify strengths and gaps, so we can adapt our teaching and put the right support in place to ensure every pupil is well prepared for the next stage of their learning 💯

What happens when you ask children to come to school dressed as a vocabulary word?
A little chaos, yes - but also a wonderful display of creativity, confidence, and imagination.
At ISJ, learning goes beyond the page. It’s about giving children the opportunity to bring ideas to life, encouraging self-expression, and making every school day truly memorable. 📚✨

All of our teachers are British and UK-trained - bringing both the academic rigour and pastoral excellence of the English National Curriculum into every ISJ classroom 🇬🇧
We take great pride in the strength of our teaching team. It is their wholehearted dedication and genuine care for each pupil that leaves a lasting impression on our families.
And nothing means more than hearing it directly from our parents: “Thank you for giving our son such a nurturing environment and excellent education from an early age… he really loves his teachers, and it has been a real pleasure seeing him grow and learn so many important things at ISJ.” ✏️

At first glance, you might think these children are siblings - and in many ways, our school does feel like one big family 🍏🍎
Especially during these heartwarming moments - when our older pupils are buddied up with the little ones, stepping naturally into their “big sibling” roles to read and share stories together as part of our Book Week 📖
At ISJ, we believe that connections across age groups help shape kind, patient and thoughtful individuals 💫

One of the most anticipated days of the year at ISJ: Summer Fun Day ☀️
A time for our whole community to come together and enjoy an afternoon of outdoor activities, live music, and great food.
We hope you all had a fantastic time last Friday - it was a joy to see everyone enjoying our lovely campus 🌳
