[ : How FIFA Takes All Profits from the World Cup while Hosts Bear the Cost]

Jumanji, short for Jumat Mengkaji, is a program by SPA FEB UI that produces outputs in the form of articles or interesting facts.

Hosting the FIFA World Cup requires massive investments in stadiums, transportation, security, and other supporting infrastructure. Yet, while host nations bear much of these costs, FIFA captures most of the tournament's high-value commercial revenue, including broadcasting rights, global sponsorships, and licensing. So, how can FIFA generate billions in revenue without owning the infrastructure behind the World Cup?

The answer lies in the different accounting treatment of costs and revenues. Host nations recognize their infrastructure investments as assets under IAS 16, while FIFA recognizes commercial revenue based on its contractual rights and performance obligations under IFRS 15. This structure allows FIFA to operate an asset-light business model, leveraging infrastructure provided by host nations while retaining the commercial rights to the tournament.

BINUS National Accounting Tournament (BNAT) XV 2026 merupakan kompetisi akuntansi berskala nasional yang diselenggarakan oleh Himpunan Mahasiswa Akuntansi BINUS dengan mengusung tema โ€œAccuRisk: Accounting and Risk Mitigation in Economic Uncertainty.โ€

Lewat AccuRisk, peserta diajak untuk melihat bahwa akuntansi tidak hanya berperan dalam pencatatan keuangan, tetapi juga menjadi alat penting untuk mengenali risiko, mendukung pengambilan keputusan strategis, serta menjaga kestabilan perusahaan di tengah dinamika ekonomi.

BNAT XV 2026 terdiri dari dua kategori kompetisi:
* Youth Accounting Competition (YAC) - untuk siswa/i SMA/K/sederajatย
