"Una Noche Lorca" gathers fragments of twelve poetic and theatrical works by Federico Garcia Lorca, in a passionate, colorful and didactic performance, where acting and interpretation with puppets is accompanied by live Flamenco-jazz music. Scenes from "Blood Wedding", "The house of Bernarda Alba", "The Love of Don Perlimplín and Belisa in the Garden", "A poet in New York" amongst others, are performed in a continuous screenplay where characters rapidly switch between actors and musicians in a surprising and actual staging. A journey through human passions and roles, where humor wraps the deep misery and injustice in which modern society is immerse.

Understanding and training the musical aspects of Flamenco, especially rhythm and its possibilities within the structure, will lead dancers and choreographers to confident ex*****on of footwork and body percussion, and will provide some important clues for creating one´s own choreography and improvisation.

A whole weekend experiencing FLAMENCO in Jakarta:

15th&16th February, Indonesian Dance Theatre: Live music Flamenco dance workshop for beginners: "por guajira", a sweet and pretty dance with Cuban influences, that uses a fan intermingled with hand movements and footwork. There will be 2 different sessions, with different content, and the music during the classes will be live, as usual (Adien on guitar and Ángela on vocals). No special shoes will be required, and the level will be suitable for beginners, though also enjoyable among those with previous knowledge in Flamenco, as Ángela will always offer the possibility of more complexity in some of the steps, to build a richer choreography.

Ángela López (Spain, 1979) is a multitalented artist, graduated in Piano Performing at Conservatorio Superior J. Rodrigo in 2002, and specialized with L. Chiantore in 2007. She undertook masterclasses with A. de Larrocha, J. M Colom and other piano legends of the Spanish Repertoire, being prised due to her refined ex*****on of the tunes and rhythms of the andalusi folklore. Surrounded by Flamenco since a young age, she focussed her career into other staging arts, studying dance and vocal techniques and working, since 2004, as a singer, dancer, composer, choreographer and actress and being part of companies and formations such as “Eureka Teatro”, ”Tercero Izquierda Teatro” and “4 hands 4 feet piano” duet, performing all around Spain, Argentina, Chile and Indonesia. After several years studying traditional Indonesian music and dance at ISI Yogyakarta and other centers in Bali and Cirebon, she passionately spreads her admiration for the Indonesian culture, collaborating with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Madrid and being the pioneer of the Balinese Dance in Spain. Since living in Indonesia, she has been supported by the Spanish Embassy in Jakarta, the Ananda Sukarlan Center for music and dance, and the Ministry of Culture and Education of Indonesia, giving workshops, performances and masterclasses about Spanish piano repertoire, Flamenco dance, Flamenco Theory and Spanish culture, and sharing her passion for the richness of Spain with global audiences.

Adien Fazmail (Jakarta, 1981) is a versatile guitarist, with a long trajectory in both teaching and performing, who has been playing Jazz, Blues and Rock with top musicians from Indonesia since he was young.
While studying Musicology at Jakarta Institute Of The Arts, Adien graduated in Farabi in 2009, having studied with the indonesian guitar legends Donny Suhendra and Agam Hamza, going deep into both acoustic and electric guitar. As a guitar instructor Adien has an intense trajectory, teaching since 2007 at centers such as JIS Academy and Music School of Indonesia.
Since 2014, he has focused his career towards Flamenco guitar, studying with Carlos Gómez (Spain, 2016) among others. He regularly plays and gives workshops in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Jakarta and always keeps opened to other genres, being often involved in different music projects, as composer, performer and improviser.
