Cisarua Refugee Learning Centre Community based and managed learning centre for refugees and asylum-seekers in Indonesia since 2014.

Refugees and asylum-seekers' mission is to establish, manage and run a learning centre on sustainable basis where their children get education which they had been deprived for. The other mission is to expand the number of students from children to adults by organising classes in the afternoon and evening. Also to gather the community elders, members, women and children under umbrella of education.

At our learning center, education is not only about books and classrooms, it is also about building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles through sports and activities.

Our Table Tennis classes are creating an exciting and energetic environment where students learn new skills, improve their focus, and grow into talented players with the support of our dedicated and skilled teachers.

We are proud to see our students enjoying every moment, practicing with passion, and developing their talents day by day. From regular academy classes to sports activities, CRLC continues to provide a positive and supportive space for learning and personal growth. 🏓

Today, we are proud to share this beautiful speech written by Parisa. Her speech is written in the Dari language, and this marks her first experience writing in Dari, as we have recently begun teaching the language to our enthusiastic students who are passionate about learning it.

Parisa is one of the young and talented students in our Elite Class.

She is an active, hardworking, and inspiring student who always brings positive energy and creativity to CRLC, Her thoughtful words about the importance of family reflect not only her growing writing skills, but also her kind heart, strong character, and bright future ahead.

We are truly proud of Parisa and all of our amazing students who continue to learn, grow, and shine every day.

“Family is one of the most important parts of every person’s life. In the family, a person learns love, respect, and cooperation. Parents play an important role in raising children and always try to build a bright future for them.

Family is a place where a person feels safe and peaceful. When problems arise, family members support each other and find solutions together. Good relationships within the family also help with intellectual and moral growth.

“ خانواده یکی از مهم‌ترین بخش‌های زندگی هر انسان است. انسان در خانواده محبت، احترام و همکاری را می‌آموزد. پدر و مادر نقش مهمی در تربیت کودکان دارند و همیشه تلاش می‌کنند تا آینده‌ای روشن برای آن‌ها بسازند.

خانواده جایی است که انسان در آن احساس امنیت و آرامش می‌کند. وقتی مشکلاتی پیش می‌آید، اعضای خانواده از یکدیگر حمایت می‌کنند و با هم برای حل پیدا کردن راه‌حل تلاش می‌کنند. داشتن روابط خوب در خانواده باعث رشد فکری، عاطفی افراد می‌شود.

Meet Adelaide Xerri.

Last year, she played a big part to make Ride For Education campaign a success. When our co-founder Muzafar Ali completed 4,000km bike ride on late June; behind the scenes, she helped him to organise events everyday, from Queensland to New South Wales, to Victoria and South Australia.

She ran an impressive social media campaign and that’s where she excels.

After monthly of planning, Adelaide arrived in Cisarua to meet the community and it was such an excited moment for us all. Adelaide stayed here over three weeks where she familiarised herself with our team, work and visit other learning centres.

We are thankful to Adelaide who did a mini fundraiser for us. She raised $600, which she bought art supplies for our students.

A workshop on Education Theory — by one of our own.

Nagina Zahra was among CRLC's first teachers before resettling in Australia in 2015. Now a qualified teacher there, she returns to share what she's learned with the people who first shaped her path.

On her recent visit to CRLC — where her passion for teaching first took root — Nagina led a workshop on Education Theory, walking our teachers through eight pillars of learning: behaviourism, cognitivism, constructivism, social learning, humanism, multiple intelligences, Bloom's taxonomy, and how to bridge theory into everyday practice.

There's something quietly powerful about a former student-turned-teacher coming home to train the next generation. We're proud of Nagina, grateful for her time, and excited to see our teachers grow — because every new skill in our classrooms ripples out to the refugee children we serve.
