IFSA LC IPB actively participate to annual event of IFSA World such as IFSS, APRM. We also involved in many social and environmental project regarding to forestry in Indonesia and many countries. Beyond their ecological value, customary forests are closely tied to Indigenous communities, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. Yet, these forests continue to face a variety of environmental, social, and governance challenges.

IFSA LC IPB Goes to the Restoration Education (RE) Asia Summer School

We are proud to introduce our Vice President, who will participate in the Restoration Education (RE) Asia Summer School 2026, held from 19-30 July 2026 at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Philippines.

Our delegate:
Alfarizi Ramadhan (SVK 60)

As one of the Student Consultant for the Landscape Alliance Restoration Education Initiative, Alfa will represent the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA) and youth perspectives during the pilot implementation of the Restoration Education curriculum alongside students, educators, researchers, and restoration practitioners from across Asia.

Having previously contributed to the design and development of the curriculum, Alfa will now support its implementation through a 10-day interdisciplinary Summer School. The program combines classroom learning, field immersion, collaborative discussions, and project-based activities to strengthen participants’ capacities in ecosystem restoration, landscape governance, community engagement, and sustainable landscape management, while gathering valuable lessons to further refine the curriculum.

We wish our Vice President every success in representing IFSA and Indonesia, while continuing to make IFSA LC IPB proud through his contributions to advancing Restoration Education and fostering collaboration toward more resilient and inclusive landscapes across Asia.

Behind the “Eco-Friendly” Label: Greenwashing and Value Chain Inequality in the Rattan Industry

Rattan is often seen as an eco-friendly product, but sustainability is more than just a label. In this session, we explored how greenwashing can hide inequality across the rattan value chain.

💬 We also discussed the importance of fair profit distribution, transparent supply chains, and stronger regulations to create truly sustainable forest products.

Takeaway: True sustainability means protecting both forests and the people behind them.
