Did you know ?? gan..

American and British English are the same language in essence. However, the pronunciation of several words as well as the accent in general are different. Also, some words are different (prawns (Br English) x shrimp (AM English) and other words have different spelling (theater (AM English) and theatre (Br English). Slangs and idioms also very a lot from Am to Br English. But again: the language itself, the grammar and the structures are the same.

A SUPERLATIVE ADJECTIVE expresses the extreme or highest degree of a quality. We use a superlative adjective to describe the extreme quality of one thing in a group of things.

There are two ways to form a superlative adjective:
• short adjectives: add "-est" – the largest, the smallest, the fastest, the hardest
• long adjectives (more than two syllables): use "most" – the most beautiful, the most interesting

NOTE: We also usually add 'the' at the beginning

The following adjectives have irregular forms:
• good → the best
• bad → the worst
• far → the furthest

MUCH X MANY / FEW X LITTLE

MUCH: uncountable nouns (milk, jam, money, time etc.)
MANY: countable nouns (bottles of milk, jars of jam, dollars, minutes etc.)
- How much money do you have?
- How many dollars do you have?

In informal English these questions are often answered with ‘a lot of’/’lots of’. There is no much difference between the two phrases.

LITTLE: uncountable nouns (milk, jam, money, time etc.)
FEW: countable nouns (bottles of milk, jars of jam, dollars, minutes etc.)
- He has little money.
- He has few friends.

ACTUALLY = IN FACT - de fato, na verdade
