SMP Cultural Gala: “Indonesian in Harmony”

As part of the preparation for our Cultural Gala Project celebrating Diversity, Faith, Culture, Creativity, and Unity, Grade 7 students visited various houses of worship (Rumah Ibadah) on Monday, 14 September 2026.

This hands-on trip gave students real-life references on the architecture, symbols, and traditions of each faith — inspiring their upcoming project: building 3D miniatures of houses of worship!

Places visited by religion:
🔸 Buddhism – Vihara Graha Buddha Mangala
🔸 Islam – Masjid Cengho Bengkong & Masjid Raya Batam Center
🔸 Christian – GRII & GAPPI Batam Center
🔸 Catholic – Gereja St. Damian Bengkong

We embraced respect, empathy, and unity in diversity! 🇮🇩✨

🎓✨ PYPX Parents Information Session

Today, we welcomed our PYPX parents for an informative session as we begin another exciting journey of learning, inquiry, and action. 🌍💡

The session provided an opportunity to explore the PYP Exhibition, understand the process, and discover how parents can support their children as they turn their interests and ideas into meaningful action.

Thank you to our parents for your partnership and continued support. Together, we empower our students to become knowledgeable, caring, and responsible changemakers. 💙

How do our body systems work together to keep us healthy, active, and strong? 🧬💪

Our Grade 4 learners took center stage at their recent assembly to explore this exact question! Throughout their Unit of Inquiry, students investigated the interdependence between our respiratory, digestive, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems—discovering how proper nutrition, exercise, and good hygiene keep everything running smoothly.

We love seeing our students ask big questions and make real-world connections! 🧠✨

📚✨ SEASONS OF KNOWLEDGE — DAY 2

The questions continue. The perspectives shift. The knowledge evolves. 🌱🔍

On Day 2 of our IB DP TOK Exhibition, our students continued exploring “Seasons of Knowledge”—challenging assumptions, considering different perspectives, and discovering how knowledge can change through time, experience, evidence, and new discoveries.

A heartfelt thank you to our TOK Adviser and the IB DP team for guiding our students throughout this meaningful journey, and to the entire SGIA school community for the incredible support that made this exhibition possible. ❤️👏

Because sometimes, the most powerful learning begins with one simple question:

“But… what if we’re wrong?” 💭

Question boldly. Think deeply. See differently.
Let knowledge evolve. 💡
