Thank you to all of the parents who joined us for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DOE) Parent Coffee Session. It was great to see such strong interest as we get ready to launch this program at BIS. The DOE connects well with our MYP Service as Action and DP Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS), giving students another meaningful way to apply their learning beyond the classroom.

The DOE will support students in building real world skills, developing independence, and strengthening resilience, while also encouraging them to form new connections within and beyond our community.

Our Grade 12 students truly brought their CAS journeys to life at this year’s CAS Fair. Through a wide range of meaningful experiences, they showcased their growth in Creativity, Activity, and Service, highlighting their commitment to making a positive impact both within and beyond our school community.
From inspiring service projects to innovative initiatives, students confidently shared their stories, challenges, and achievements with the wider secondary community. Their presentations reflected not only strong leadership and organization but also genuine passion and purpose.
A special well done to all G12 students for their dedication and hard work, and for inspiring others to take action and make a difference.

Recently our G3-G5 Student Council Representatives took a full-day trip to Jakarta to participate in a Primary Leadership Conference at Nord Anglia School of Jakarta. They worked with student leaders from other schools across West Java to problem solve, collaborate, and explore the UN Sustainable Development Goals. They served as exemplary ambassadors and showed the 60 other participating students what it means to be a BIS Dragon!

On Friday, 17 April, students in Grades 5–11 enjoyed a fun and exciting Language Day by exploring four different stations: English, Bahasa, French, and Mandarin. They got to experience each culture through language activities, fun board games, and delicious food. This event was a perfect way to show the IB Learner Profile in action, as BIS students come from different countries and cultural backgrounds. By being open-minded and curious inquirers, they learned to appreciate what makes each culture special. It was a fun, hands-on day that brought everyone together and celebrated the many languages that make our school community so unique.

🐉 Our Dragons delivered an incredible showing across the final IISSAC 2026 competitions, highlighted by individual medal-winning performances in badminton, cross country, and swimming, a runner-up finish in boys’ badminton, and outstanding team results in the pool with our girls placing 2nd and boys 3rd overall.
From podium finishes to personal bests, our student-athletes demonstrated determination, teamwork, and Dragon pride at every turn. We couldn’t be prouder of all they accomplished. What a way to close out IISSAC 2026! 💙🔥

Related to the unit Kebersihan Lingkungan, the Grade 7/8 Indonesian Language Acquisition class visited Kubcasamakta in Lembang to integrate their learning with outdoor activities and gain a deeper understanding of how plastic and paper waste are processed.
During the visit, students engaged in a practical, hands-on paper-making activity while using the Indonesian language, enhancing their language skills in a real-world context. This experience also helped reinforce vocabulary related to recycling, sustainability, and the paper-making process.
In addition, students will use the recycled paper they create to develop their persuasive writing, connecting their learning to meaningful communication about environmental issues.

Grade 8 Students participate in a series of cooperative challenges designed to strengthen teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Working in groups, they follow teamwork rules that emphasize respect, participation, listening, and safety. Using simple materials like cups, shoelaces, rubber bands, and table tennis balls, teams complete tasks such as stacking cups or transporting objects without using their hands. Success depends on coordination, shared leadership, and clear communication. These activities encourage students to collaborate, manage disagreements constructively, and recognize the importance of every team member contributing to achieve a common goal.
