SEAQIS is the South East Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) regional centre Quality Improvement of Teachers and Education Personnels (QITEP) in Science Supported by the Ministry of National Education Indonesia, SEAQIS (formerly SEAMEO QITEP in Science) conducts professional development programs for science educators within Indonesia and the South East Asian region. It also conducts

the annual International Conference on Science Education (ICon) and engages in a number of international collaborations to develop science education resources and to strengthen the science education community.

Let’s get to know Bu Lia Laela Sarah, an accomplished teacher who transforms ideas into innovation and innovation into meaningful learning experiences for her students. ✨

In addition to developing Arduino-based STEM learning, Bu Lia also took part in the Ki Hajar Dewantara Award 2018. This prestigious SEAQIS initiative recognises teachers who demonstrate dedication and innovation in education.

Beyond participating in various activities, Bu Lia has also taken an active role in one of SEAQIS’s programmes as part of the development team for its climate change education programme, known as SEA-CEP.

Alongside continuously developing innovative approaches to learning, Bu Lia actively shares her good practices with fellow teachers and encourages more educators to continue innovating.

Thank you, Bu Lia, for every innovation, good practice, and inspiration that continues to grow and make a difference in the world of education.

Her classroom is where innovation begins, but its impact reaches far beyond it. 🌱

Empowering Teachers, Creating Future Solution-Makers

STEM education is not simply about technology; it is about how teachers design learning experiences that encourage students to think critically, be creative, and find solutions to real-world challenges.

SEAQIS joined as a resource speaker in the STEM Learning Implementation Training for Junior Secondary Teachers, organised by Yayasan BPK Penabur Jakarta at SMPK 5 BPK Penabur Jakarta.

Through this training, teachers strengthened their understanding and skills in designing authentic, contextual, and student-centred STEM learning. The use of micro:bit was also part of the exploration, programming, and technology-based solution design activities.

Ultimately, STEM learning is not simply about getting students to create projects, but about equipping them to think, innovate, and create solutions for the world of tomorrow.

Peluncuran Seri Buku Aktivitas STEM bagi Anak Usia Dini sebagai langkah nyata mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih kreatif dan inovatif.
