On Friday, May 16th, 2025, our K1 students of TMI ECC had an exciting and educational adventure at Kebun Raya Itera as part of our themed field trip: “Plant Propagation”! 🌱
From the moment they arrived, the children were full of enthusiasm, ready to explore nature. They learned about different types of plants, tried their hands at planting ornamental plants, and discovered the basics of plant propagation in a fun and engaging way! 🪴
One of the highlights was seeing rare plants like the pitcher plant (kantung semar) up close—what a fascinating experience! The trip ended with a visit to the greenhouse, filled with stunning orchids and wild forest orchids that amazed everyone..
This field trip was not just about learning, but also about building a deeper connection and love for nature from an early age. Thank you, Kebun Raya Itera, for this unforgettable experience!

Our unforgettable journey to Japan began with a cheerful group photo before heading to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. We flew to Haneda Airport with ANA Airlines, filled with excitement for the adventure ahead.
One of our first stops was the University of Tsukuba, where we explored innovative technology like the fascinating Robot Suit HAL. Designed to help patients with motor disabilities, it detects the wearer’s movement intentions through sensors and assists with motion—even without actual physical movement.
At Waseda University, we were amazed by their unique four-level library, each designed for different levels of silence: the Active area where you can talk and type, the Quiet area for typing without talking, the Silent area for quiet tablet use, and the Super Silent area strictly for writing. The campus was equally impressive, with its beautiful library, theatre, museum, and auditorium.
Our visit to the Institute of Science Tokyo allowed us to meet members of the Indonesian Student Association (PPI) and witness intricate machinery used to produce ultra-pure glass for smartphones, camera lenses, and more. We also enjoyed a magical day at DisneySea Tokyo, a massive amusement park divided into eight themed zones inspired by various global regions like Italy, America, and Arabia. From thrilling roller coasters to captivating attractions, it was a truly enchanting experience. Next we headed go to gotemba Premium outlet, a paradise for shoppers featuring renowned brands like Nike, Adidas, and The North Face—all set against the stunning backdrop of Mount Fuji. We then immersed ourselves in Japanese tradition at the historic Sensoji Temple. Strolling around in rented kimonos added to the authentic cultural experience and created unforgettable memories. In Ikebukuro, we explored a lively entertainment district known for its pop culture references and appearances in anime. The area was full of unique shops and Instagram-worthy photo spots. A visit to Akihabara was a dream come true for fans of Japanese pop culture. This iconic area is known as the “heaven” for anime lovers, with endless shops full of merchandise, gashapon machines, and collectibles for hobbyists.

*Backpack Trip 2025: Java & Lampung University Visit* is an educational program initiated and carried out by the 11th-grade students of TMI High School. This journey across several notable universities on the island of Java aims to broaden our understanding of university life, strengthen our sense of responsibility and teamwork, and help students explore higher education options aligned with their interests and future goals.
Over the course of 9 days, we visited 6 universities across 4 major cities: Yogyakarta, Semarang, Bandung, and Jakarta.
began at *Yogyakarta State University (UNY)*, specifically at the Faculty of Dentistry. There, we were introduced to a disciplined learning environment, cutting-edge laboratories, and the warm, humanistic spirit of the faculty’s students.
Next, we traveled to *Diponegoro University (UNDIP)* Semarang. We received a comprehensive overview of various majors and study programs, with a focus on environmental science and technology—fields that are becoming increasingly relevant today.
At *Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar)*, we explored the Faculty of Law. The visit included a courtroom simulation and insights into professional conduct, offering us a firsthand look at how legal education is implemented from the early stages of university.
In Bandung, our stop at the Faculty of Psychology at *Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI)* allowed us to understand the importance of character analysis, observation techniques, and psychological counseling, supported by a hands-on simulation of a counseling room.
At *Trisakti University* Jakarta, we engaged in creative play while learning at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. Through crafting artworks with LEGO, we experienced a vibrant, inspiring environment that deepened our interest in art, design, and innovation.
Our final visit was to *BINUS University Alam Sutera*, specifically to the Faculty of Management. Here, we were introduced to modern, tech-integrated courses and the role of creativity in the world of business and entrepreneurship.
This journey not only expanded our academic horizons but also gave us a clearer vision of our future paths, empowering us to dream bigger.
