🇮🇩 Celebrating 81 Years of Indonesian Independence! 🎉

Our school community came together to celebrate Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day with joy, respect, and enthusiasm.

The celebration began with a meaningful Flag Ceremony, where our students took on important roles, from raising the flag and leading Indonesia Raya to reading Pancasila, the Proclamation, and sharing the history of Indonesian independence. 🇮🇩

The celebration continued with traditional Indonesian games, including Flag Racing, Marble-and-Spoon Race, Ball-and-Spoon Race, Balloon Passing, Kerupuk Eating Competition, Sack Race, and Tug of War. 🏁🥄🎈💪

The students experienced the joy of playing together while developing teamwork, perseverance, confidence, and sportsmanship.

At the beginning of the school year, Montessori teachers present the First Great Story - The Coming of the Universe, to introduce children to the wonders of the universe and spark their natural curiosity.

Through storytelling, imagination, and wonder, children are invited to explore some of the biggest questions:

🌌 How did our universe begin?
✨ How did the stars and planets come to be?

The Great Stories are not simply about learning facts. They invite children to wonder, question, imagine, explore, and make connections.

The First Great Story lays the foundation for the Montessori Cosmic Curriculum, helping children understand that everything in the universe is interconnected and that each living thing has a role to play.

Long before children write words on paper, they prepare their hands through practical life activities, strengthen their fingers with purposeful work, and build language through rich conversations and hands-on materials.

By the time they begin writing, they're not simply copying letters—they're expressing ideas.

Summer doesn't have to be filled with constant activities.

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments happen when we simply slow down.

One of the central principles of Montessori is Follow the Child. It means observing with care, respecting each child's pace, and trusting their natural desire to learn.

When a child is deeply engaged, we try not to interrupt or rush them. We protect their concentration because it is through these uninterrupted moments that children develop focus, independence, and confidence.

This holiday, perhaps the greatest gift we can offer is not another activity, but the time and space for children to explore, repeat, discover, and enjoy the process in their own way.

Sometimes the richest learning happens with muddy shoes, curious hands, and a basket of nature's treasures. 🍃

A feather. A fallen flower. A smooth stone. A leaf with an interesting shape.

What may seem ordinary to us can become a meaningful discovery for a child.

In Montessori, nature is an extension of the prepared environment. A simple nature basket invites children to observe closely, compare, classify, build vocabulary, and develop a deeper connection with the world around them.
