The other day at a café with a smug confidence of a long-term bule we ordered a side of sambal.

The waiter asked: “Which sambal?”

Smugness evaporated.
“Sambal… batar?” I mumbled.

He smiled politely… and brought ketchup. 🤦🏼‍♀️

When EVERY caption, menu, website and “brand story” sound the same how do you tell real quality from marketing ai-conformity?

If language shapes thought, what happens when your thinking is trained on the same phrases as everyone else’s?

How many times a day do you read “community,” “experience,” or “intentional” before they stop meaning anything?

At what point does semantic convergence stop being a linguistic theory and start being the reason Bali sounds like a single overworked press release?

When your business description could belong to a yoga shala, a coworking space, or a crypto retreat without changing a word, what exactly are you selling?

If young people grow up drafting identity through algorithms, what does their adulthood look like?

If the language, and thought, has been flattened, does curiosity survive?
