This powerful quote by Dr Maria Montessori encapsulates the foundation of our philosophy at Montessori School Bali. We believe in honouring the unique essence of every child, understanding that their innocence and potential set them apart.

In our classrooms, we prioritise respectful interactions, creating an atmosphere where each Child feels valued and empowered. Each day, we encourage exploration and self-discovery, allowing our students to tap into their capabilities and dream big.

Join us in celebrating the infinite possibilities that lie ahead for each Child. Together, we can foster a generation that respects themselves, others, and the world around them! šŸŒ±šŸ’›

At Montessori School Bali, we believe that true success in education comes when the Child develops the confidence and skills to learn, explore, and grow independently. As Maria Montessori beautifully said, ā€œThe greatest sign of success for a teacher is to be able to say, ā€˜The children are now working as if I did not exist.ā€™ā€

In our Montessori environment, we create opportunities for children to take charge of their own learning, make choices, solve problems, and engage deeply in their work. Our teachers guide, observe, and support each Child, but it is the Child who leads the way. This approach empowers each Child to become an independent thinker, confident decision-maker, and curious explorer.

We see the magic happen every day when our students take ownership of their learning, collaborating with peers, engaging in hands-on activities, and pursuing their passions with joy and focus. They learn to trust themselves, build resilience, and develop a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.

At Montessori School Bali, we are proud to nurture this independence in each Child, knowing that we are preparing them not just for the classroom, but for life. 🌿🌟

The Cosmic Fables are the orientation lessons in the Montessori Primary curriculum. This approach invites children to begin their educational journey by exploring the universe’s grand story, where all aspects of the universe—from the tiniest grain of sand to the vast galaxies—play a crucial part in the unfolding miracle of life. By presenting the Cosmic Plan as a series of ā€œthrilling tales,ā€ Montessori education sparks a child’s imagination and curiosity, allowing them to see the interconnectedness of all things. The Child learns that they are not just passive inhabitants of Earth but active participants in its ongoing story. Through lessons on the formation of the planets, the beginning of life, the development of all living things, and the emergence of social cultures and symbols, they begin to see the wonder and purpose in every aspect of their world.

This storytelling approach impresses a sense of wonder and love in each Child, encouraging them to become compassionate stewards of the earth and to tap into their innate gifts and talents. It’s an invitation to marvel at the universe and understand their role in its continued progress—a thrilling journey of discovery that enriches their mind and spirit.

In the Montessori classroom, a birthday celebration is a beautiful and meaningful event that honours the child’s unique journey around the sun. The celebration begins with a child holding a small globe, representing their personal journey on Earth. They walk around a lit candle, symbolizing the sun, for each year of their life, while the teacher narrates important milestones and moments for each year.

This ritual helps the child connect with their past, present, and future, fostering a sense of belonging and self-awareness. The celebration often concludes with a special snack or treat shared with classmates, emphasizing community and togetherness. It’s a joyful, reflective experience that celebrates the child’s growth and uniqueness, aligned with the Montessori philosophy of honouring each child’s individuality and life path.

Today we acknowledge and honour World Food Day - highlighting the importance of food security and the fight against hunger. Established in 1979, this day raises awareness about global hunger and malnutrition, while encouraging everyone to take action to ensure access to safe and nutritious food for all.

The Purpose of this day is to promote:

1. Awareness by educating ourselves about the challenges of hunger and malnutrition.

2. Action by encouraging governments and individuals to advocate for food access and sustainable practices.

3. Solidarity in tackling food-related challenges on a global scale.

4. The need for sustainable food systems as the global population grows.

As we observe World Food Day, let’s unite and create a future where everyone has access to healthy and nutritious food.

Celebrating World Food Day: An Act of Generosity

On October 16th, we will proudly commemorate World Food Day, a global occasion aiming to raise awareness about hunger and promote food security for all. This year, our Upper Primary students took this mission to heart and made a special trip to Sanur to contribute to the fight against hunger in our community.

The donations from our wonderful Montessori Community, ranging from non-perishable food items to essential supplies, reflect the Montessori School Bali values of Community and Care along with the spirit of giving and the commitment to fostering a better world for those in need.

This experience taught our Upper Primary Students the values of kindness, community, and being of service to those who are less fortunate. As we acknowledge and honour World Food Day, let us all be inspired to contribute to creating a world where everyone has access to nutritious food.

A heartfelt thank you to all the families and individuals who donated, proving that together, we can make a significant difference. Let’s commit to continuing this journey of kindness and generosity beyond World Food Day!

At Montessori School Bali, the Preschool and Lower Primary students celebrated Galungan by participating in creative activities.

The Preschool students engaged in a creative activity by making a Penjor, which we saw all over Bali and is a beautifully decorated bamboo pole typically adorned with various offerings and symbols of prosperity. This activity not only allowed the students to express their creativity but also taught them about the cultural significance of the Penjor in honouring Balinese ancestors during Galungan.

Meanwhile, the Lower Primary students participated by making Canang Sari, traditional Balinese offerings that consist of a small basket made from palm leaves filled with flowers, rice, and other offerings to the gods. This activity helps them understand the importance of gratitude and devotion in Balinese culture.

Together, these activities fostered a sense of community and cultural appreciation allowing students to celebrate the Balinese heritage in a fun and engaging way.
