Unfortunately, we will skip our C1+/Teachers book club in June! I will be traveling to several academic conferences this month, but hope to see everyone in July!

Mild swear words :)

You probably won't learn expletives, or "bad words," in a formal English class, but they're still a very important part of understanding spoken language. Utah is known for being a very polite state, so instead of using the stronger form of bad words, people will often substitute them for softer, less offensive versions. 💬✨✍️

Can you make a sentence using one of these milder "bad words" (heck, gosh, darn, shoot)? Try it out in the comments below!

A researcher is looking for participants who speak English as a foreign language and game. Details below:

We are conducting a study on people's motivation to play games and speaking anxiety, for which we would love to get your inputs.

If you play games and English is your additional language (second language) please help us by participating in the brief survey using the following link:

Participation is completely voluntary and will not take more than 5-10 minutes of your time. Please read each question carefully and answer as honestly and candidly as possible.
