Natural Horsemanship Summer Camp for Kids

2022 July 18-22

Our traditional "nomadic" equestrian summer camp is drawing near! We have a few places left for English speaking participants.

- designed for anyone under 18 years with basic riding skills
- focused on free range trail rides and non-violent communication
- nomadic circumstances: sleeping in tents or under the stars, no internet or electricity, cooking over fire and using water from a well
- base camp located inside a National Park protected area
- bilingual instructors (English-Hungarian)
- all inclusive participation fee: 250 EUR per person

Nadin Engler and Krausz Ádi thought how dull it would be to sit in the car for 1.5 hours to visit Bejke, and decided instead to walk for 8 days across 3 counties from Felsőerek to Vásárosbéc, a ~150km distance.

A decision upon such an ordinary matter, yet so compelling to the outcome: resulting in an unforgettable experience, bringing them closer together, to nature and themselves.

While enjoying this trivial and essential human aptitude, their feet took them across towns and hills, forests and roads, setting camp each night under the starry sky.
Along the way, they encountered helpful people and also others incapable to understand their decision to embark upon such an adventure: “how stupid” they commented.
The deers and wild pigs they came across for sure did not question such lovely couple, instead enjoyed their company as we all did since the moment they arrived to Vásárosbéc.

Today was the first morning the Sun could properly greet the lands of the Star Trail Horse Ranch after several rainy and cloudy days. The early hours’ silence, peacefulness and the warm sun rays presented an unmissable opportunity for meditation on the deck of the upper Yurt.

Reaching for stillness before contemplating the surfacing thoughts, which happened to be about the continuity and inevitability of change happening before one’s own eyes. In the air, in the sky, throughout the day, days, weeks and months, and altogether: life.

Alongside summer, change is also pushing ahead in the Ranch, with its inhabitants working unceasingly on the common land and common goals while sharing and living together the aspirations of an idea born over a year ago.

The Sun is now preparing to set yet again. The lawn mower takes advantage till the last bits of the day, while the children play, and others make preparations for dinner and tonight’s Full Moon Campfire (an already set tradition in this young community of People).

Tomorrow will be another day, another blank page to fill the days with change.
