Singularity in surgical training - YourAnastomosis Subscription Robotic cardiac surgery is beginning to spread, and our training models must evolve with it. A new paradigm in surgical training is emerging. From the perspective of surgical education, focused on technical and non-technical skill development and performance improvement, there has never been a perio...

Now, as we enter a new level of minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery, a new era of surgical education begins. Our goal remains clear: turning surgical performance into data to enable patient- and surgeon-specific prediction and to optimize training in cardiovascular surgery and beyond.

This is not about developing simulators alone, but about an integrated platform that uses performance data to define learning processes and drive the next generation of training and algorithms.

Rather than relying on generic datasets, motion tracking, or suture positioning alone, it evaluates true surgical end results to enable outcome prediction, built on more than 5,000 simulated cases and detailed mathematical modelling of case-specific anatomy derived from nearly 100 patient cases.

Our approach combines:
high-fidelity replication of patient-specific anatomy and surgical settings using affordable, versatile 3D printing.
morphological and functional analysis to predict outcomes, including blood flow behavior and tissue response during procedures.
personalized performance feedback with targeted, actionable improvement suggestions.
All of this is delivered through an integrated platform that converts real clinical cases into simulators within days, and generates analysis results within hours.

This progress is only possible with a diverse and highly committed team of clinicians, engineers, data scientists, and technologists working at the intersection of medicine, AI, and technology.

We are now demonstrating how performance data unlocks preoperative planning, automation-ready pipelines, and the next level of optimized surgical training.

2025 moved quickly, but it gave us many moments that reminded us why this work truly matters. ✨

This year, we spent time listening, learning, and building training experiences that help surgeons refine their skills with a focus on precision and patient outcomes, one step at a time.

This is the perspective we’re carrying into the next chapter.

🪡A Perfect Closing to the Year’s Workshops! 🎆

The 4th SICCH Course on Transcatheter, Minimally Invasive, and Robotic Surgery took place in Salsomaggiore, Italy, two full days dedicated to hands-on training and practical learning.
At the coronary workstations in the Training Village, featuring OPCAB and MIDCAB cases, we also hosted a competition among Italian residents. We’re proud to announce the top 3 best-performing anastomoses, great results all around!

👏 Congratulations to our winners:
🥇Dr. Alice Ziliotto
🥈Dr. Claudia Forte
🥉Dr. Alessio D'amato

Huge thanks to the organisers, Società Italiana di Chirurgia Cardiaca e Vascolare, for delivering such a high-quality, practice-based event. We’re honoured to collaborate in advancing evaluation-based, proficiency-based training across the full spectrum of cardiac surgery.

🏆 New Anastomosis Challenge at International Coronary Congress
– Finalists Announced! 🏆
We’re excited to launch a brand-new initiative in collaboration with at 11th International Coronary Congress! On the very first day of the congress, a distal coronary anastomosis competition was held, where participants performed on very similar LIMA-LAD case replications. Judging was based on coronary flow performance and objective scoring.
We’re now thrilled to announce our four finalists:
🔹Michal Pasierski
🔹Gustavo Orellana Sampedro
🔹Ali Hassan
🔹Christy Wong
👏 Congratulations to all for their outstanding performance! These finalists now move on to our final challenge, where they will perform a LIMA–LAD anastomosis during the main session to determine the ICC Champion of the Year.
Cross fingers and stay tuned!

Thank you very much for support of Medtronic and John Puskas, Gianluca Torregrossa to their support in bringing this initiative forward.

A new training date is now open, giving participants the chance to work through Prof. Wouter Oosterlinck’s MIDCAB cases and learn directly from his approach in daily practice.

🎯 The course offers structured hands-on work, case discussion, and clear feedback to help surgeons navigate complex situations with greater confidence.

This program is for those who want to strengthen their MIDCAB routine through focused practice.

✨We look forward to welcoming the next group of participants.

🇧🇪 It was our greatest pleasure and honour to contribute to the Robotic Revascularisation Course this week in Leuven; with two rotational hands-on training sessions, under the exceptional direction of Prof. Oosterlinck. ✨

Participants had the opportunity to practice on real case replications directly from University of Leuven, gaining practical insights, tips, and nuanced techniques to take home.

A dedicated robotic station was set up for fully robotic mammary artery harvesting, using realistic tissue models to simulate diathermy and dissection. Each session included full analysis and scoring of thermal and mechanical impact on graft integrity.

This training brought together every element of Robotic Assisted-MIDCAB, from technical skills to objective outcome prediction for both graft quality and anastomosis performance. Thank you very much for Wouter Oosterlinck for outstanding professionality and for EACTS - European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery to organize this unique course. 🤝 ✨
