We are a group of enthusiastic Waldorf parents from Felsőhámor. We would like to show you our wonderful place we live organizing Waldorf family camp. Why?

if you like green forests, beautiful mountains, verdant valleys, bubbling brooks and clear spring waters;
if you love trips and cooking over an open fire;
if you would like to know more about Hungarian folk music and dance, and if you would like to taste Hungarian foods;
if you like tiny villages nestled at the foot of a mountain, and peace and and fresh air;
andif you love spending your holiday/v

acation with your children as a family;
Then

Come to see us in Felsőhámor to spend your family holiday with other Waldorf families from all around the world! Because you don’t need to drive to take a long or a short walk in mountains or to enjoy the other natural wonders Felsohamor has to offer. You will live in this setting for a week. You can leave your house in any direction you won’t be disappointed! Lillafüred is about a 10 minute walk away through the hanging garden. The lake at Hámori has offers fun for every age, with clear spring waters, beautiful scenery and a waterfall. Because we give you a lot of opportunties every morning to be together with your children (or your grandchildren or your nieces and nephews) as a family at the school, carving wood and creating other handcrafts, making Hungarian food and doing other things together. Because we have a lot of plans on your afternoons having a great time in Hungary. Of course , we have a sightseeing trip to Miskolc and the mediaval castle. We’ll also travel by tram through the center of Miskolc . We’ll also swim in the fantastic cave bath in Miskolc-Tapolca, and we’ll row on a dragon-boat on the Hámor lake; and the bravest can peek at the wild animals at the Miskolc zoo at night. Because we want to show you our cuisine. We will make some food in the backyard of the school over and open fire, and of course we’ll taste the famous Hungarian wines and beers, while the children drink home made fruit syrup. We’ll also try Hungarian restaurants, as well. What are we offering? One summer week for family-happiness in a Waldorf environment! J Where is the camp? The camp will be held at the Waldorf School in Felsohamor in northeastern Hungary near Miskolc, about two hour from Budapest. The accomodation is in Felsőhámor as well, at houses. When will the camp be held 07.31-08.08. 2015. What’s included? Tuition covers the cost of the camp includes everything, including accomodations, 3 meals a day (one or two are hot meals); and all of the tickets and fees for the public transportation. There will also always be vegetables, fresh fruits, bread, cheese, jam and fresh spring water avaialble at the school. Who are the organizers? The camp has been organized by a group of Waldorf parents. The morning courses will be held by our Waldorf teachers. All the organizers work for free, and all of the profits, if any, go to the school to provde necessities. What is our goal? The goal of the camp is forging stronger national and international Waldorf relationships, getting closer each other Waldorf families from all around the world; and having a great time together learning more about other countries. Who are we waiting for? Families of every shape and size from all over the world! Small families, big families, extended families, blended families and single parent families. Parents and their chidldren; grandparents and grandchildren, or aunts and uncle and nieces and nephews. All are welcome!

5th Waldorf Family Camp Programs for 2017
29th July – 5th August
Hamor Waldorf School, Miskolc, Hungary

Rhythm of the daily activities
9.00-10.00: breakfast at school
10.00-11.00: Tea-house chats for adults – about us, about you, our kids,
our schools, etc. Games for children with animators
11.00-18.00: programs (lunch is included)
18.00-19.30: dinner at school
19.30-22.00: evening activities

Rhythm of the week: one day in, one day out
in Hamor: Crafts, as planking, weaving, pottery. Drama and/or singing lessons.
Tales, songs, dances: ours and yours
Excursions to beautiful places nearby: forest, trout farm, viewpoints, fountains, industrial centre from XVIII. century, homo sapiens’s cave Seleta, etc

Rhythm of the daily food: breakfasts and packed lunch by Steiner’s cereal calendar dinners – by “star-chefs” from our Waldorf school - you can join the competition between them and prepare your national food for us (with our help, of course)

Evening activities: night walking, juggle show, traditional dance parties, campfire, games, chats, singing
