🌍📚 Science truly brings people together.
Students and early-career researchers from around the world gathered at the MATE Kaposvár Campus for our International Summer School. Alongside gaining up-to-date knowledge in research methodology, they also had the opportunity to discover Hungarian culture and traditions.
💬 “MATE’s International Summer School is building a scientific community that is open to collaboration and the sharing of knowledge,” said Rector Dr. Gyuricza Csaba.
Beyond the academic programme, participants explored the research infrastructure of MATE and its partner institutions, visited the Bőszénfa Deer Farm, and experienced Hungarian traditions firsthand—from cooking traditional goulash together to baking the iconic chimney cake.
The Summer School once again proved that MATE is fostering an international scientific community where knowledge sharing, collaboration, and cultural diversity go hand in hand.

Science and tradition go hand in hand at the MATE Summer School. 🌍
Participants of the international Summer School at our Kaposvár Campus had the chance to discover the flavours of Hungary by cooking traditional goulash together and preparing kürtőskalács (Hungarian chimney cake). 👨🍳
Dr. Csaba Gyuricza, Rector of MATE, also joined the program and gave an impromptu masterclass in four-strand bread braiding. Thanks to his guidance, the dough became not only delicious chimney cakes but also freshly baked braided sweet bread. 😊
The chimney cakes were prepared using the authentic recipe of Dr. Zoltán Kovács, Vice-Rector for Science and International Affairs giving students a unique opportunity to learn the secrets of this beloved Hungarian specialty.
The MATE Summer School is about much more than academic excellence—it is also about sharing cultures, creating friendships, and making unforgettable memories, because some of the best learning happens beyond the classroom. 💚

From classmates to a global community! 🌍🤝
The memories may have started in Hungary, but the connections last far beyond graduation. 💚🤍❤️
We had an amazing time at this year's Stipendium Hungaricum & Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship Alumni Fest, celebrating friendships, inspiring stories, and the incredible international community that continues to grow long after university.
From meaningful conversations and new professional connections to plenty of smiles, selfies and unforgettable moments, the event reminded us that some of the best things we take home from Hungary aren't souvenirs... they're the people we meet along the way! 🇭🇺❤️
At MATE, we're proud to be part of that journey in our student's lives and to see our alumni community thriving all around the world later.
A huge thank you to the Tempus Public Foundation and Alumni Network Hungary for bringing us all together once again—aboard the beautiful Europa Ship, with one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Budapest from the Danube. ✨
And if you haven't joined the Alumni Network Hungary yet, now's the perfect time! Stay connected, grow your network, and keep the MATE spirit alive wherever life takes you.
