🏐🐾 Bulldog Sports Report! ⚽🐾

Fall Sports are officially underway! Our Soccer and Upper School Volleyball teams have jumped back into action with practices in full swing. The season officially kicked off with the Fall Sports Season Meeting last week, led by Athletic Director Mr. John Burgess and coaches! 🏐⚽✨

Games are already happening this week, so be on the lookout for game-day reminders, support our teams, and stay tuned for all the results in next week's Athletics recap! 💚🙌

Thank you to Mr. Burgess, coaches, athletes, and parents for showing up to the meeting. With DVAC tournaments coming up, we can't wait to see our teams show up for the season! 🥇🙌

☕💚 PSA Coffee Gathering: Volunteers Welcome!

Our Parent School Association (PSA) hosted a cozy coffee gathering for parents interested in getting involved with school events this year! ☺️☕✨

Over coffee and conversation, parents connected with each other, heard from PSA leader Ms. Kim Rickard, and learned about the many ways to be part of ICSB life — from coffees with school leadership to the International Festival and everything in between. ☕🍣🥟🧆🌮💃

We're so grateful for our ICSB parents who show up, get involved, and help make our school community. 🙏💚🐾

🎤✨ There's a Club for That!

Our Upper School students took the stage at assembly to present the clubs available for students to join, and introduce the leadership organizations behind school parties and service opportunities! 🎉

From open interest-based clubs like AV Club, Dance Club, and The Bridge, to Girls and Guys Bible Study, and audition, merit, or election-based groups like Worship Team, National Honor Society, and House Council — there's something for everyone: a place to grow, serve, and belong. 💚

House Council Already Cooking 👨‍🍳🍳 🏠

Before the school year even started, House Council President Joe D. delivered a moving speech during All Staff Orientation. 🎤 At the staff welcome lunch, Joe reminded our staff of the heart behind ICSB, thanked them for all they do for him and his classmates, and encouraged them as our community stepped into the new year. 😊💚

Now that school is back in full swing, House Council is already gearing up for its first Upper School event of the year, a Dodgeball Tournament, coming up next week! 🤾‍♂️🤾‍♀️⏰

Thank you to Joe for encouraging our staff, and to our entire House Council and their sponsor, Ms. Anna Spence, for planning and leading this first Upper School HoCo event, and many more to come! 🙏🏡 🙌

🔬🍉 Splat: The Sound of Science 🎾🪙

Mr. Sawyer Smith started his Middle Grades science class with a bang (or a splat, rather), dropping a coin, a tennis ball, and a watermelon from the third floor while students below in the schoolyard watched and recorded their observations. 👀📋

Everything really fell into place in this first science experiment of the school year! 😁🍉

Thank you to teachers like Mr. Smith who make learning fun from day one! 🎉🔬

⚽💚 First-ever Preseason Weekend 🎉

Our Varsity Girls Soccer team set big goals this offseason and scored on every one. 🥅🙌

Before kicking off the season, the girls took last weekend to run drills, build the team, and hone their skills. ⚽🔥

Huge shoutout to Coach Christa Lloyd for going the extra mile in the offseason — and to these student athletes for taking initiative and playing with heart. 💚🙏

We are excited to see how this extra time on the pitch will assist them in putting it in the net this season! Go Bulldogs! 💚🐾

🎒🔔 First Bell, Big Smiles! 😊🎒

The halls were abuzz again! 🏫✨ Our Bulldogs, Pre-1st to seniors, new and returning, walked through the school's doors for the first day of the 2026-2027 school year, and what a joy it was to see! 🙌📚

Staff greeted students with open arms 🤗, ready to welcome them into the year ahead. 💚

From first-day jitters 😅 to happy reunions, ☺️ butterflies 🦋 to big grins 😁, the day marked the start of another wonderful year at ICSB. Let's go, Bulldogs! 🎉🐾

✝️📖 From Staff Devotionals to First Divisional Chapels 🎸✝️

Each day of All Staff Orientation (ASO) last week began with a devotional centered around the theme for this school year: Stewardship. 💕🤲

It was a blessing for new and returning staff to gather in worship and prayer, 🎹🙏 be refreshed by scripture through the ministry of our chaplain team 🎤📖, and hear from our Head of School, Mr. David Kelley, who shared his heart for ICSB as our community steps into this new season. 💚🐾

On the final morning of ASO, our staff posted prayer requests on their doors 🚪📝 and walked the halls together 🚶‍♂️ 🚶‍♂️ , covering our school in prayer for the year ahead. 🙏💕

Now that these halls are filled with students once again, we are so excited to gather students and staff together for our first divisional chapels of the school year, starting today! 😊 🙌
