Our August RAQSoul live class will be a special one — a hybrid session taught live from my summer camp in Budapest! 😍☀

In just over a week, RAQSummer Intensive will begin, and I’m so excited that for the first time, one of our intensive sessions will also be open to you ONLINE.

We’ll spend two hours working on combinations to a classic Cinematic Oriental song from the Golden Era of Egyptian music, in a brand new version you’ve never heard before. We’ll explore its music, rhythm and lyrics through movement and work on all the tiny details that make this piece unique. ✨

If you’re in Budapest, we’d love to welcome you in the studio (either for this workshop or for the whole intensive weekend), or you can dance with us online on RAQSoul from anywhere around the world.

📅 AUGUST 28 (Friday) 14:00-16:00 CEST

Can’t make it to Budapest, but would still love a little piece of RAQSummer? I have a surprise for you! 🧡

RAQSummer Intensive is getting closer, and I can hardly believe that we’ll be together in Budapest for the 20th anniversary of our summer camp in just two weeks. This year’s intensive is a truly unique edition, all about expression, artistic identity, and creative voice.

And for the first time, I’m opening one of our intensive sessions to you online. 😍 So even if you can’t join us in Budapest, you can still get a little taste of RAQSummer and dance with us from wherever you are.

We’ll spend two hours working on combinations to a classic Cinematic Oriental song from the Golden Era of Egyptian music, in a brand new version you’ve never heard before, while exploring its music, rhythm and lyrics through movement.

If you could go back and give your younger self one piece of advice... what would you say?

I think Jinhee's answer is one every professional dancer should definitely hear, especially if you want to keep dancing for many years to come.

If you missed our latest Layali El Hob conversation with Jinhee Kim live, you can still watch the full episode on RAQSoul (link in comments), together with all the previous episodes featuring some of my favourite raqs sharki artists. ❤️

Many of you might still remember the beautiful workshop she shared with us last year, and since she’ll be in Budapest this week, we simply couldn’t miss the chance to dance together again.

This will be a hybrid class, so if you’re in Budapest, we’d love to welcome you in the studio, or you can dance with us online on RAQSoul from anywhere around the world.

How do you find balance when your passion is also your profession?

We touched on this during our latest conversation with Jinhee Kim, along with many other topics about dance and life as an artist.
The full interview is waiting for you on RAQSoul:
https://www.raqsoul.com/course/layali-jinhee

And now we're already getting ready for episode 5... 😍 Let's just say, we'll be welcoming back a very special guest. 😉❤ Any guesses?

One more veil combination for you, coming straight from last weekend's Mejancé Lab. 🩷

It was such a joy to spend the evening together, discovering creative flowy entrance combinations and new possibilities with the veil. This was one of the combos that challenged us the most, so I thought I'd share it with you as a short tutorial. I hope you'll enjoy dancing it as much as we did. 😍

If you missed the Summer Beats workshops, it's not too late. The full Mejancé Lab recording is now available on RAQSoul, together with Jinhee Kim's wonderful tabla workshop. You can watch both recordings anytime over the next month. (You can find the links to both workshops in the bio.)

Love Transforms – A journey through love, loss and self-discovery

🖋 Poetry therapy workshop with Lilla Bálint at RAQSummer Instensive Budapest
📅 28 August | 🕟 16:30-18:00

Love is not only the story of two people. Every great love leaves a mark on us: it changes the way we see ourselves, our bodies, our desires, and the world around us. In this workshop, through poetry, music, and creative writing, we will explore how love transforms us – and how we find our way back to ourselves after a relationship ends.

Lilla Bálint is a journalist, bibliotherapist, and mental health counselor. Co-author of the bibliotherapy guide Szöveglelő and author of a popular literary history book focusing on women’s life stories and cultural representations. She facilitates support groups for parents of children on the autism spectrum, integrating biblio/poetry therapy, and creative visual art practices. Member of Hungarian Association for Biblio/Poetry Therapy.

✨ This workshop is not only for dancers. Everyone who is interested in art, therapy or self-expression is warmly welcome.
