Not a construction school. Not a trade school. Just a school that takes "Dream to Reality" literally.
The oldest students are reimagining and renovating their classroom. Not a mood board. Not a presentation to adults. Doing the actual thing. They measured, drafted floor plans, sourced materials, built acoustic panels, learned how to paint, plaster, sand and hang a metal grid on the walls. Most importantly, they learned to research, to listen, to convince, to agree, to collaborate, and then to make something happen.
The room they will reveal this Friday is the room they imagined together, argued over, iterated on, and built themselves.

Are you a passionate, patient teacher of young children who knows that the early years quietly do the most important work — the years where children learn to read, to belong, to wonder out loud, to fall in love with the natural world, and to see themselves as people who can do things? Do you want to teach in a school where one full day a week is spent outdoors with your children, in all weathers, and where nature is treated as a co-educator rather than a field trip? If so, read on.
In this role, you will lead a group of Year 1 and Year 2 children (ages 5–7) through their first formative years of primary school. You will teach early reading and writing with rigour and warmth, build strong number sense, and bring the awe and wonder of science, the natural world, and the arts to life through immersive, play-rich project-based learning. You are the person who teaches a child to read. You are also the person who teaches them that learning is something they can love. As Homeroom Educator, you are the primary adult in your children's school day - the one who knows each child best, who holds their growth across the whole person, and who is the main point of contact for their families.

Why work at REAL School?
→ Inspired by Green School Bali, built for urban Europe
→ About a hundred students from over 25 nationalities, ages 5–14
→ TEAL distributed leadership - high trust, very little hierarchy
→ Dream to Reality programme - project-based learning that connects knowledge to action
→ Budapest is one of Europe's most liveable cities - safe, beautiful, culturally rich, and far more affordable than Western Europe
→ Lower primary is a deliberately tech-free environment for children. For you as an educator, however, AI and digital tools are part of how we work behind the scenes.
You do not need to be a PBL expert. We will train you. What you must bring is excellent early literacy and numeracy teaching, a deep understanding of how young children learn, a genuine love of being outdoors, and the patience and warmth that this age group needs and deserves.
🌍 Imagine children writing plays that celebrate the languages and cultures in their own classroom.
🫶 Imagine children learning to live with empathy - not as a lesson, but as a way of life.
🎵 "Imagine all the people, sharing all the world"

Can a 5-year-old child help someone experiencing homelessness? Absolutely - if only given a chance.
Our youngest students went to Lehel Market to rescue vegetables that might otherwise go to waste, came back to school, and made 65 sandwiches - each one wrapped with a handwritten message. Budapest Bike Maffia also came to talk to the children about what it means to help other people, and delivered all the sandwiches to people in need.
Teaching about empathy can be abstract. But this was real - an act of kindness they could hold in their hands.

"I think the best part is that it's their own initiative."
One child came home asking her mum about their culture. Another started noticing places in the city that weren't accessible to people with disabilities. Not for homework. Just because they genuinely wanted to know.
This is relevant learning. This is how knowledge actually sticks.

📖 🙌 This May, something has taken over REAL School. Children are reading at break, on the basketball court, on public transport - whenever and wherever they can. It's Literacy Month!
Each day of the week brings something different: word work, storytelling, listening, independent reading, and reading together on Fridays. Learning groups are also setting their own reading challenges. Stay tuned to see how many books and hours the children clock up by the end of the month. 👀

Happy 100th birthday, Sir David Attenborough! 🎂
Your wonder, your work, and your belief that life on Earth is worth fighting for have moved so many to care deeply about it - including the students at REAL School.
For your birthday, we asked the children:
🌍 What would you like the world to look like 100 years from now?
🌿 What are you doing today for a more beautiful world 100 years from now?
These are their answers - and their birthday message to you.
Thank you for showing a generation what a beautiful world we share, and the resolve to regenerate it!

🎲 Can learning tools be as fun as video games?
That's exactly what our oldest students did. They are tasked with making learning tools for all the younger children in School.
😅 The challenge? Some of their future users can't even read yet!
🛠️ How? Lots of research, prototypes, feedback, and AI - of course. The whole class built a Gemini gem to guide them through the development of learning tools.
💡 The result? Learning tools - designed by children, for children - that are functional, beautiful, and engaging!
