Four full days of conferencing at ISPP 2026 Newcastle, UK. Apart from presenting our latest research, Boglárka Nyúl served her last year as chair of the Early Career Committee and Patricia Ciordaş as the ECC Newsletter Editor, while Anna Kende received the John L. Sullivan mentorship award.

A délutáni poszterszekcióban Ciordas Patricia mutatta be a „Trust, but Verify: How (In)consistent Allyship Shapes Disadvantaged Group Members’ Perceptions” című kutatását, amely a többségi helyzetben lévő csoporttagok következetes szövetségesi szerepvállalásának hatásait vizsgálja a hátrányos helyzetű csoportok tagjainak észlelésére.👏🔥

Yesterday brought another valuable contribution from our department to the academic program at the European Association of Social Psychology conference!
In the afternoon poster session Patricia Ciordaş presented her research titled “Trust, but Verify: How (In)consistent Allyship Shapes Disadvantaged Group Members’ Perceptions". The study explores how the (in)consistency of allyship from advantaged group members shapes the perceptions of individuals from disadvantaged groups.👏🔥

✨ Újabb eseménydús nap az EASP-n! / Another eventful day at EASP 2026!🥰
Tegnap ismét sűrű napunk volt a European Association of Social Psychology konferenciáján, ahol újabb prezentációkkal és egy poszterrel képviseltük a tanszéket. Ráadásul egy nagyszerű közös ELTE-s csoportkép is készült a kint lévő csapattal! 📸
Hadnagy Eszter szóbeli előadás keretében mutatta be legújabb kutatását „Against the Odds: When Identity Threat Sparks Collective Mobilization” címmel. Gáti Éva pedig a poszterszekcióban prezentálta munkáját, melynek címe “Collective Action as a Mental Health Buffer for Disadvantaged Groups” volt. Különleges és ritka pillanat volt, hogy Éva mindhárom témavezetője – Bertjan Doosje, Kende Anna és Szekeres Hanna – személyesen, fizikailag is jelen volt a konferencián, így ezt az alkalmat egy közös fotóval is megörökítettük. 🎓🤝

Yesterday was another busy day for our department at the European Association of Social Psychology conference, featuring both an oral presentation and a poster presentation. We also managed to take a great group photo with the ELTE team! 📸
Eszter Hadnagy delivered a talk to present her latest research findings titled “Against the Odds: When Identity Threat Sparks Collective Mobilization”, while Éva Gáti showcased her work in the poster session, titled “Collective Action as a Mental Health Buffer for Disadvantaged Groups”. It was a special and rare occasion to have all three of Éva's supervisors – Bertjan Doosje, Anna Kende, and Hanna Szekeres – physically present at the conference together, a moment we gladly captured in a photo. 🎓🤝

Tegnap ismét sűrű és izgalmas napunk volt, hiszen tanszékünk több munkatársa is pódiumra lépett a European Association of Social Psychology konferenciáján!
Hadarics Márton a „Conspiracy Thinking and Reduced Well-Being: The Role of Objective and Subjective Democratic Quality” című blitz szekcióban mutatta be kutatását. Szekeres Hanna és Nyúl Boglárka pedig az „Intersections of Power and Prejudice: How Gender, Race, and Sexuality Shape Stereotypes and Social Judgment” szimpóziumon adtak elő: Hanna a „Paternalism and Hostility in the Classroom: A Dual Pathway of Prejudice Toward Racially Minoritized Girls and Boys” címmel, míg Bogi a „Judging the Same Case Differently: Anti-Roma Prejudice, Victim Credibility, and Moral Disengagement Distorts R**e Evaluation” témájával szerepelt.
