Inclusion often begins with a better question: what in this task creates an unnecessary barrier?
It is a fair question, especially when a course requires time, energy and financial planning. Supporting dyslexic learners can involve thoughtful changes to materials, reading tasks, phonics work, visuals, ICT tools, pacing and classroom expectations.
What should you check next?
1) Look at the demands created by layout, timing, memory and decoding.
2) Adapt without lowering the meaningful learning goal.
3) Use teacher observation and learner response to refine support.

A useful teacher-training choice begins with a specific professional need.
Start with your development goal, not the module number.
Module choice should follow the capability a teacher wants to develop: theoretical analysis, observed professional practice or specialist course design.
Use these three prompts in your decision: Choose Module 1 when you want to consolidate and demonstrate advanced knowledge. Choose Module 2 when you want sustained work on observed teaching and reflective practice. Choose Module 3 when you want to research a specialism and design a course and assessment approach.
Explore module routes. Tell us which point matters most to you.

‘TEFL’ is a field. CELTA is one specific qualification within it.
There is no single route that is right for every teacher. CELTA is a specific Cambridge initial qualification with a defined syllabus, assessed teaching practice and continuous assessment; the term TEFL can describe many courses with very different structures.
When you compare your options, look at the actual learning and assessment involved. Compare whether a course includes assessed teaching practice with real learners. Check who awards or validates the qualification and how assessment works. Match course depth, support, time and cost to your actual goals.

🕔 17:00
💻 Zoom
A tanáré is.

Many prospective candidates ask: Preparation can improve readiness. It cannot replace the assessed qualification.
Our honest answer is that the Cambridge CELTA Preparation Course is a focused way to practise language analysis, teaching terminology and concise explanations, but it is not the CELTA qualification and does not guarantee acceptance or a pass.
A useful decision should take account of three things:
• IH Budapest presents the course as a CELTA taster and preparation route.
• Its listed aims include analysing language, using teaching terminology and explaining language concisely.
• Current dates, format, price and interview arrangements must be checked before publication.

Budapest, tonight’s English word is eclipse. 🌒
A partial solar eclipse begins over Hungary at 19:22 today, 12 August. In Budapest, it will be at its most visible around sunset, at approximately 19:58.
And there’s one phrase worth remembering before you look up: eclipse glasses.
Regular sunglasses are not safe for looking directly at the Sun, so make sure you use proper solar viewing protection.
If you’re heading outside this evening, find yourself an open view of the horizon and enjoy the show, safely.
And because we’re International House: what do you call “eclipse” in your language?

The strongest reason to take DELTA is not simply ‘the next certificate’.
DELTA is most valuable when it is connected to a real professional question: improving classroom decisions, exploring a specialism, strengthening mentoring or preparing for greater academic responsibility. This matters because course names alone do not tell you whether the learning experience fits your current stage.
Consider these points: Advanced study can challenge routine assumptions about teaching and learning; Module choices can reflect different goals: knowledge, classroom practice or course design; and Professional growth may remain classroom-focused or lead towards wider roles.
Read how the modules differ. You are also welcome to share this post with a teacher who is comparing options.
