Is there a better way to kick off the summer than with a FIFA-worthy SEK match?
We are thrilled to share that today our very own football superstars inaugurated SEK Budapest’s football pitch!
The matches were filled with laughter, spectacular goals, and unforgettable moments that kept the entire audience laser-focused on the game. For a few hours, the whole SEK family cheered together from the bleachers.
We would like to thank our amazing parent community for their support and help in revamping our football pitch.

Class 6.B stepped into a world of myth and imagination at the Ladó Gallery! 🧜♀️✨
Guided by exhibiting artist Katalin Szeivolt, our students explored the fascinating worlds of shamans, Buddha, and sirens in an exclusive creative workshop. From channeling their inner "shamans" to taking home a custom coloring gift, it was a day filled with art, history, and inspiration. 🎨🖌️

Our students recently visited the Vasarely exhibition, where their eyes didn't just observe—they seemed to "move" along with the mesmerizing play of shapes and illusions! 🌀✨
Vasarely’s world proved to be both deceptive and fascinating, showing the class how art can be incredibly playful yet deeply thought-provoking. It was an unforgettable journey into the world of op-art!

To celebrate Children's Day, our wonderful preschoolers traded their classrooms for a day of pure exploration and big smiles! 🥰✨
Our exciting journey kicked off with a classic tram ride heading straight to the famous Budapest Children's Railway (Gyermekvasút)! 🚃💨 The children were absolutely thrilled to board the train—especially knowing it's operated by older children! As we wound through the beautiful green hills and forests, we caught spectacular views of the city. The absolute highlight? Screaming with pure delight together every time the train plunged into the dark tunnel! 🙈📣
Our final stop was the beautiful Normafa, where a massive afternoon of outdoor fun awaited. From conquering the climbing frames and racing down the zip line to swinging high and sharing a lovely picnic under the trees, our little adventurers made the absolute most of nature. 🌲🧺
Of course, no hot day of play is complete without a treat! We cooled down with some delicious ice cream 🍦👅 before heading back to school the same way we came—exhausted, happy, and full of wonderful memories.

On 22 May, our school proudly hosted the official DELE Spanish Language Exam in cooperation with the Cervantes Institute! 📜✍️
A huge congratulations to the 28 dedicated students who took on this major academic challenge across three different levels (A1 to C1 Escolar). They powered through an intense marathon of reading, writing, listening, and oral exams from 8:30 AM until 8:00 PM! 🎒💪
A massive thank you to our incredible Spanish Department and the Instituto Cervantes de Budapest for ensuring the day ran smoothly and professionally.
The official results from Madrid will arrive in about three months, but we already know our students did amazing. We are so incredibly proud of your hard work and dedication! ¡Felicitaciones! 🎉👏

Congratulations to Milán Merényi (Grade 9) for taking the silver with his team, KSI, at the National Water Polo Championship!
Milán, a key member of the squad, has already made his debut in this season’s adult OB1 league. The age-group league’s "Final Eight" tournament was held last weekend, with KSI entering the competition in fourth place. On Friday, they successfully cleared the first hurdle to advance to the semifinals, and on Saturday, they secured their spot in the finals. On Sunday, they held the lead for nearly the entire match; however, in a heartbreaking turn of events, their opponents took the lead with only thirty seconds left on the clock. While the gold was narrowly missed, Milán and the KSI team earned a hard-fought silver medal in this season’s National Championship (Országos Serdülő Bajnokság).
We are incredibly proud of Milán’s dedication to both his sport and his team, and we look forward to celebrating his future successes in the pool.

For the second year in a row, SEK Budapest Preschool had the honour of hosting the Chilean Consul in Hungary, Ms. Leyla Vásquez Islame. It was a day dedicated to celebrating the Spanish language and Chilean culture through play and discovery.
The children followed the adventures of ‘Dulce de Leche,’ a traveling capybara who introduced them to Chile’s vibrant landscapes and traditions. The highlight for many was tasting ‘Chilenitos’—a delicious treat filled with ‘Manjar.’ To conclude the visit, each student received an honorary Chilean certificate, complete with their own fingerprint. It was a memorable day that brought their Spanish lessons to life with enthusiasm and smiles!
