The reason why I can prepare students for C1 exams in three months - or even in three weeks - is that I know what they need. I have prepared over a thousand students in the last 25 yearrs, so I can safely say that simply completing an examp prep book from cover to cover will not help you pass your exam, but it will surely take up your time.
Don't spend time learning vocabulary you don't need in the exam.

You should know exactly what you are expected to do and what you are tested on in the exam. If you focus on that, you can radically reduce the preparation time.

Preparation for writing tasks is not just about writing more, it is about writing consciously. Under the guidance of someone who knows exactly what can be expected in the exam.

One of my C1 students took the exam yesterday and ended up getting exactly the same essay topic as she had written for one of our lessons. This meant she was not facing anything unfamiliar, she had already worked through several essay tasks, received detailed feedback for each, and understood how to approach an essay effectively.

This is the difference between random practice and guided preparation, because when you work with a teacher who understands exam patterns, typical topics and marking criteria, you are not just guessing.
Writing tasks should be a lot more than just writing practice, basically you are building a reliable system that you can always fall back on under pressure. You learn clear structure, fixed intros and conclusions that can be adjusted with flexibility.

Confidence comes from having done something similar before.

Eight tasks in 90 minutes is certainly challenging!

However, with a clear plan and good time management, all the tasks can be completed on time. Staying organised and keeping an eye on the clock makes all the difference in surviving a full mock exam.

My Cambridge C1 students hand in 13 writing pieces altogether throughout the course.
Out of these, 4 writing tasks are part of the 2 mock exams.
So, altogether, they receive 4 complete writing assessments - like these ones - during the course.
For the other 9, they receive detailed correction and feedback.
