Important Update Regarding Ishido Shizufumi Sensei

Dear friends,

It is with great sadness that we must share that Ishido Shizufumi Sensei will not be able to attend the Summer Seminar 2026 in Budapest.

As Sensei explains in his message, he is currently undergoing medical examinations and, although his spirit remains strong, his health condition does not allow him to commit to a long journey and stay in Europe. While we are deeply disappointed that he cannot join us, we fully support his decision. His health and well-being are the most important considerations, and we wish him all the best.

At the same time, we would like to highlight something very important. In his own message, Ishido Sensei expresses complete confidence in the Japanese instructors who will be attending the seminar. These teachers are among the most experienced and respected instructors also in Japan, with extensive international teaching experience and direct access to the latest developments in ZNKR Iaido, ZNKR Jodo, and Koryu.

We sincerely hope that Sensei’s absence will not discourage anyone from participating. The seminar remains a unique opportunity to train under an outstanding Japanese delegation, meet practitioners from across Europe and all over the world, exchange knowledge, renew old friendships, and create new ones.

The organizing team continues to work hard to ensure that this seminar is worthy of the trust placed in us. We are proud to host the event at the Ludovika Arena in Budapest, a modern, recently renovated venue offering excellent training conditions and ample space for all participants.

Budapest itself is one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals, rich in history, culture, and hospitality, making it an ideal location for an international gathering of the Iaido and Jodo community.

We remain fully committed to delivering a memorable and high-quality seminar experience, and we look forward to welcoming all of you to Hungary in August 2026.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to thank Ishido Sensei for his message and wish him strength, good health, and a speedy recovery.

We hope to meet him again soon, either in Japan.

The official website of the Ishido Shizufumi Sensei Summer Seminar 2026 has been updated.

Newly available information now includes:

* Recommended hotels near the venue
* Accommodation registration process
* Lunch order registration
* Dan examination registration information

We encourage all participants and interested practitioners to review the updated sections carefully before completing their registration.

Participants who have already registered will soon receive an email where they will be able to indicate their lunch preferences and requirements.
